Join us for Easter at Redeemer! We will gather outside the church for a shorter sunrise service, stepping into the early morning as the women did when they discovered that Jesus had risen. The Paschal candle will be lit and we will hear the Easter acclamation as we celebrate what our Lord has done.

Our main Easter service is at 10 AM.
Don't forget your bells! (We have a bunch at the church too.)

We invite you to join us for our Good Friday service tonight at 6:30 PM. Good Friday is a time to reflect on Christ’s way of pain as he dragged the heavy cross through the cobbled streets until he fell under its weight. It was not just the wood that weighed him down, but our sin and our indifference toward it, and the brokenness of the whole world. We recall his agony as God turned away from all the evil placed on Jesus, and we recall his death—a real death, not imagined or theological, but a painful and lonely death that we should have died.

Today is “Good” Friday because the cross is the way to healing of the whole world, and our rescue from the rupture of sin.

You are invited to join us for our Maundy Thursday service tonight at 6:30 PM. Maundy Thursday receives its name from the mandatum (commandment) given by our Lord: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” (John 13:34). At the Last Supper, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and commanded them to love and serve one another as he had done. This day commemorates the Lord’s example of servant ministry, the institution of the Eucharist (Holy Communion), the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the betrayal leading to the crucifixion.

At tonight’s service, we will have the opportunity to experience the ministry of foot washing. This is a powerful picture of our servanthood to God and each other, and is not mandatory, but offered as an invitation as the Lord leads. Following communion, the altar will be ‘stripped’, a symbol that Christ has been taken away, and that his disciples have scattered. Finally, the cross will be draped in black - a symbol of mourning that will lead us into Good Friday.

As we enter into Holy Week, the devotional [Mercy, Passion, and Joy] reflects on what the author terms, “The Great Reversal,” when God takes what oss evil and turns it for good. “In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis described Aslan’s work as a different way of working, namely, that when an innocent and willing victim is put to death in the place of a traitor, death itself starts working backward. In other words, that victim comes back to life, as Aslan, the Christ-figure of Narnia, does.”
