For nearly 2,000 years the Christian Church sung hymns with occasional light instrumental accompaniment. Starting in the 1970’s “worship bands” began to form and for some, the modern “worship” service bears an eerie resemblance to rock concerts.

For this week’s LIVE study portion, we will be examining the question of whether Christian Contemporary Music is pleasing to Yahweh.

We meet at the Ava TrueView Family Theater at 209 S Jefferson St in Ava, Missouri.

Study portion at Noon followed by communal meal (unheated food), Comments/Questions/Answers, Music and prayer.
You can also watch the broadcast online https://www.eliyah.com/live/ or on our Roku channel, EliYah.com Live.

Did you know that Charlie Kirk was a Sabbath keeper? For tomorrow's Sabbath meeting, we'll be going over Charlie Kirk's new book, "Stop in the name of God" which was posthumously released this week and is currently the #1 best selling book on Amazon.

In this book, Charlie promotes Sabbath observance and while he himself observed it from "Friday Sundown to Saturday Sundown," he believes it is okay to observe it on other days.

In his book, he brought up 10 biblical reasons why one should observe the Sabbath, but also 10 common arguments against it. They are:

“Colossians declares the Sabbath a Shadow Fulfilled in Christ”
“Romans 14 Affirms Liberty Regarding Sacred Days”
“Galatians Warns against Returning to Calendar Observance”
“Hebrews Teaches Rest is Spiritual, not Ritual”
“The Jerusalem Council Did Not Require Sabbath Observance”
“Christians are not Under the Law but Under Grace”
“Yahushua’s Resurrection the Church’s Rhythm”
“The Sabbath Law is Part of Fulfilled Covenant”
“The Gospel Warns against Legalism and Bondage”

For some, he didn't address the points against observing the Sabbath adequately enough, so we'll be going over all 10 of these in light of scripture.

We'll also be providing some fantastic excerpts from his book on why Sabbath keeping is so important in our modern world.

We plan on addressing these questions and more at Shepherd's Way Fellowship of Ava tomorrow at 11:00am.

We meet at the Ava TrueView Family Theater at 209 S Jefferson St in Ava, Missouri.

Study portion at Noon followed by communal meal (unheated food), Comments/Questions/Answers, Music and prayer.

Some in the torah observant community are going back to keeping Christmas, claiming that Christians laid claim to the December 25th date before any pagan festivals were observed. Is this really true?

For this week’s LIVE study portion, we will be taking a close look at the actual origins of Christmas, proving that it is indeed of pagan origin and should be rejected by believers in Yahushua.

For this week's LIVE study we will be continuing our new series entitled "Promises of Yahweh." We are now in the 2nd segment and the book of Exodus in our journey through the scriptures, examining the key promises of Yahweh that help to build our faith and encourage us in our walk.

In this segment, we will be addressing the following questions:

1. How is it possible that Yahweh could actually know the sorrows that we face?
2. Scripture says that Israel is Yahweh’s special treasure. What about us?
3. Can we personally relate to the experiences of Israel when they left Egypt and went into the wilderness?
4. What is the first evidence that Yahweh loves us?
5. How can we know that we truly are important to Yahweh?
6. If we are loved, why is there so much evil and suffering on the earth and how can humility help us find the answer?
7. How can scripture be described as a love story?
8. Why doesn’t Yahweh say “I love you” very often in scripture?
9. What must we do in order to be loved by Yahweh?
10. How can our experiences as children hinder us from understanding and receiving love from Yahweh?
11. How did Israel’s failure in the wilderness to understand the love of Yahweh cause them to fail in faith and obedience?
12. What two promises in scripture can be the foundation of our faith and the fuel to move us forward?

We plan on addressing these questions and more at Shepherd's Way Fellowship of Ava today at 11:00 CT, study portion at Noon CT followed by Comments/Questions/Answers, and prayer.

You can watch the broadcast online https://www.eliyah.com/live/ or on our Roku channel, EliYah.com Live.

2. What is an important reason why Yahweh tends to use people who are weak in particular area to do His work through them in that same area?
3. Why is it “not strange” when believers go through fiery trials?
4. Why does “judgment begin at the house of Elohim?”
5. Why are elders called “Shepherds?”
6. What is a sheepfold door?
7. How can we as Yahushua’s sheep know His voice?
8. What are the characteristics of “hireling shepherds?”
9. What is an important role of fathers as shepherds of their families?
10. Why did Peter say elders should not serve “by compulsion?”
11. What does it mean for an elder/shepherd to not be “as masters over those entrusted to you?”

I can admire the bold preaching of a Baptist,
the Pentecostal's openness to the Spirit's lead,
the Mennonite's willingness to be different than the world,
the fearless evangelism of a Jehovah's Witness,
Catholicism's commitment to the serving poor and needy,
the family values of a Mormon,
the modern evangelical's resistance to liberalism,
the Adventist's commitment to understanding the end times,
the sense of community among the Amish,
Judaism's commitment to consistency,
and the Messianic's desire to return to the ancient paths.

Yet I don't need to join any of them to be a believer.

I can learn from the examples of each, without adopting the part of each that I find to be unscriptural baggage and traditions.

I can simply be a disciple of Yahushua the Messiah, the Savior of the world, seeking walk as He walked, without restriction, and without reservation...putting my trust in Him for the forgiveness of sin.

I pray that Yahweh would lead each one of us to follow the Good Shepherd with a sincere faith that is committed to walking in the truth as He walked it, without the hindrance of any human organization, and yet with full accountability to the Most High.

At Shepherd's Way Fellowship of Ava this week we will be finishing our examination of the book of Galatians, discovering more precepts and principles that the early first century congregation lived by.

In this segment, we will be addressing the following questions:

1. What does Yahweh’s goodness teach us about how we ought to walk?
2. What is self-control and how can we obtain it?
3. What is it about self-control that impacts all of the other fruits of the Spirit?
4. What is the key to obtaining the full armor of Yahweh?
5. How does modern technology negatively impact the younger generations interest in scripture?
6. When correcting others who are going astray, what is the most important perspective to have?
7. How can we obtain high rank in the age to come?
8. If we’re supposed to “bear one another’s burdens,” why does Paul say, “each one shall bear his own load?”
9. What does it mean to “share in all good things with him that teaches?”
10. If scripture says “whatever a man sows, that he will also reap,” how can we escape the reaping for all the sowing of the flesh we have done in our lives?
11. How can we avoid “growing weary in doing good?”
12. Who is the “Israel of Elohim?”

We plan on addressing these questions and more in tomorrow's (11/25/23) study.

Our meeting on each Sabbath starts at 11am, followed by study portion at noon and oneg 'potluck' shared fellowship meal.

We'll also host Q & A, prayer meeting & bible games/trivia after the meeting.

2. Was there a third letter from Paul to the Corinthians, and if so when was it written?
3. What should a congregation do once a person is confronted by the assembly and repents?
4. What is one of satan’s most common or effective tools to take advantage of believers?
5. A person who is disfellowshipped from one congregation often simply goes to another. How can this be resolved?
6. What is the “fragrance of Messiah?”
7. How can a ministry avoid the terrible trap of “peddling the word of Elohim?”
8. What does it mean, “the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life?”
9. Why is the ministry of Moshe called the “ministry of death” and “ministry of condemnation?”
10. Why is there a veil over certain people who read the “old testament?”
11. Is the Old testament “taken away” in Messiah?
12. Why do believers behold “as in a mirror the glory of Yahweh….transformed…from glory to glory? Does this mean the old testament is done away with?

At Shepherd's Way Fellowship of Ava this week we will be examining the book of 1st Corinthians to discover more precepts and principles that the early first century congregation lived by. In this segment, we will be addressing the following questions:

1. What is the danger of receiving knowledge of the truth?
2. Can a person have perfect understanding of truth, yet not have salvation?
3. Why does it seem like there are way too many “torah keepers” who are unloving and condemning?
4. Is it legalism to attend to the finer points of the law?
5. Why did Paul choose to not be supported financially by the Corinthians?
6. Is it wrong for a believer to be supported financially by those they minister to?
7. Is it biblical for congregations to receive tithe money at all?
8. Why did Paul say he became “all things to all men?” Was he willing to disobey in order to save some?
9. How can we best reach others with the truth and the gospel?
10. If we try really hard to be obedient, is this proof we are trying to earn our salvation through works?
11. What sin that was so common among the generation of Israelites that came out of Egypt, that Yahweh rejected them?
12. What important lesson can we learn from the example of those who fell in the wilderness?

We plan on addressing these questions and more in tomorrow's (6/10/23) study.

Our meeting on each day starts at 11am, followed by study portion at noon and oneg 'potluck' shared fellowship meal.
