Southwest Church of Christ

Southwest Church of Christ Practicing New Testament Christianity Today We practice believers baptism for the remission of sins (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38).

The Southwest church of Christ is a family of Christians seeking to walk in the old paths (Jeremiah 6:16) and do all things according to the pattern found in the New Testament for the church of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 1:13). We hope this website is helpful to describe to you who we are and what we are seeking to be as a part of God’s family. If you visit with us we trust you will receive a warm we

lcome and find that we are a friendly and caring group of individuals – imperfect people who believe in the perfect plan of Christ for His church. We seek to uphold the principles of the New Testament in our worship, organization, plan of salvation, and every day living in Christ. We believe that God is praised by the “fruit of lips” alone (Hebrews 13:15), and we do not use any mechanical instruments of music in worship (Colossians 3:16-17). We believe that the Lord has ordained male leadership in the church and abide by those standards (1 Timothy 2:8-15). We observe the Lord’s Supper every first day of the week (Acts 20:28). We have elders as our spiritual leaders and deacons as our spiritual servants (1 Timothy 3:1-13). Our goal is to speak where the Bible speaks, and be silent where the Bible is silent. We are convinced that the Bible is not only authoritative, but is also relevant today as mankind’s best guide for everyday living. We would love to have you worship with us.

And just like that it’s over. Some of our group are already home while the rest of us journey today. What a great weekend it was! Our youth are coming home with many awards and recognitions but most importantly, as we close the chapter on this L2L convention, we’ve all grown significantly in our knowledge of God’s word through this concentrated study in James and 1st & 2nd Peter. Thank you to all who have prayed for and encouraged this group in their endeavors, we can’t wait to get home and prepare for next year with a focused study of 1st Kings!

Around 50 of our young people and parents are in Dallas this weekend for the Lads to Leaders Convention!
This weekend they will participate in leading songs, reading scripture, debate, speeches, Bible bowl and more! We have several who participated in year round projects as well who are not with us this weekend but are still using their talents to serve God.
The theme for this year’s convention is “Faith Works” emphasizing study in the books of James and 1&2 Peter. Pictured is our group banner featuring all of our young people participating in various works over the last year. We have such an impressive group at Southwest whose talents and skills being sharpened and used in service to the Lord! We appreciate prayers for safety in our travels this weekend and that through all of this, God will be glorified.

Sin is always a bad trade - exchanging what's truly valuable for temporary pleasures that leave us empty. Don't fall for the lie that you can trade your relationship with God for something better. There's nothing better!
