Schoenstatt University Men

Schoenstatt University Men The mission of Schoenstatt is to form bold leaders for the Church and for society under the protection of Mary, our Blessed Mother.

Schoenstatt University Men is a branch of the Schoenstatt movement of Austin, which is in turn a branch of the international Schoenstatt movement around the world. "What Starts Here Changes the World" - the motto of the University of Texas, and in a sense also the motto of SUM here in Austin. Through formation and apostolic action, SUM seeks to form the New Man, a man that is firm, free, and apost

olic. Equipped with our education from UT and spiritual formation in SUM, we are sent forth into the world to make our university motto a reality.

The word "Schoen-statt" is German for "a beautiful place", and also the founding place of the movement. What is Shoenstatt?

- Schoenstatt is an international Movement in the Roman Catholic Church. It is a spiritual family composed of priests, laity, families, and youth. In over 90 countries, millions of people have come in contact with the Schoenstatt Movement.

- Schoenstatt is a way of life, circled around the covenant of love - a Marian consecration - in which we conquer hearts, with Mary, for Christ and build a culture of love for a new Christian society.

Happy Feast day of the Solemnity of the Annunciation!

Mother, you speak your Fiat without hesitation and are allowed to bear the Savior beneath your heart. As deaconess you silently prepare the sacrificial gift according to the Father's will. Draw us deeply into your mission; let us be the Redeemer's deacon.

β€œOur Lord celebrated St. Joseph’s life by coming and being obedient to him, allowing him to raise Him in His human nature. God the Father honored St. Joseph by calling him to take Mary into his home; by calling him to take the child Jesus and His mother to safety in Egypt; by calling him to not be afraid. Joseph was able to respond to all of these calls because he had two things we all need: faith in his God, and love in his heart.

The greatest way we can honor St. Joseph in our lives is to be like him - to have faith, to love, to listen and to act. To be honest in everything that we do. For when we help, teach or guide someone else, we are doing for them what Joseph did for the child Jesus.”

In Covenant Solidarity...

For everything, yes for everything, let me give heartfelt thanks,
clinging to you, Mother, with tender love.
What would have become of us without you
and without your motherly care!

Because you delivered us from great need
and bound us to yourself in faithful love,
I will give you thanks, be grateful forevermore
and dedicate myself to you with undivided love. Amen.

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pope Francis said his heart was "broken" by the war in Ukraine, and he pleaded again, "Silence the weapons!" "Many times, we prayed that this path would not be taken," he told people gathered in St. Peter's Square for the midday recitation of the Angelus prayer Feb. 27. But rat...
