Repost from Bible Study Fellowship

Guilt can be an uncomfortable topic - and something that many of us struggle with.

But instead of trying to move past or ignore our guilt, what if God wants us to engage with our guilt?

Because the good news of the gospel can’t be fully understood without first understanding our guilt. Only once we see how far short we fall can we appreciate how incredible the gospel is.

Paul talks a lot about guilt in Romans - not to shame us, but to point us to the forgiveness offered in Jesus Christ.

Join us as we study Romans and have real discussions about guilt - but also about lies on the other side of our guilt. Visit joinbsf.com to learn more or find a group that works for you!

Repost from Bible Study Fellowship

The gospel isn’t simply a truth to believe once—it’s the good news we return to again and again.

Romans shows us that our hope does not rest in our circumstances, our performance or our ability to hold everything together. It rests in what Jesus has already accomplished on our behalf.

Because of Him, our past no longer defines us, our present is held with purpose and our future is secure. The gospel meets us personally, reshaping the way we see God, ourselves and every part of our lives.

Wonder whether the gospel could really be for you? Join us for our study of Romans and discover its good news for yourself. JOINBSF.COM

As a theologian and teaching pastor, Dr. Jonathan Pennington could have easily decided that he had learned all he could from the book of Romans.

But as he studied it once again this year, he found that this book had more surprises waiting for him. More than the deep theology and truths it conveyed, Dr. Pennington was surprised by the way that Romans searched his own heart. Paul’s letter encouraged him to return to the truths of the gospel and let them take root in his daily life.

In our newest blog post, “Can Romans Really Change My Life,” Dr. Jonathan Pennington reflects on the impact Romans has made on his life, and encourages us with some questions to reflect on as we begin our study.

Bible Study Fellowship When Hally first started attending BSF, she still had a lot of questions about what faith in Jesus looked like.

But the layering of truth through BSF - reading Scripture, answering study questions, and then going deeper with the notes and lecture - helped her to finally find and understand who God really is.

What came next?

“This joy, peace and thankfulness that the God of the universe called me into relationship and knew me by name.” 💛

In his letter to the Romans, Paul isn’t afraid to ask hard questions. In every chapter, he calls us to reconsider what it looks like to live out our faith.

And like the original readers, we can be challenged and encouraged by the book of Romans; it’s a rich resource for navigating life as a believer and all the complicated issues that come with it.

Throughout our study of Romans, we’ll be sharing weekly videos from Dr. Jonathan Pennington, a pastor and theologian. We’ll wrestle with some of Romans’ hardest questions - and discover the answers together.

Haven’t signed up to study Romans with us yet? There’s still time! Visit joinbsf.com to learn more and find a group that works for you.
