The Fruit for the Prayer Warrior obedient and faithful. (Mark 11:12-26)

Whether it's whoever, wherever, or whatever giant you face, this battle isn't yours to fight alone. Victory belongs to the Lord. Receive it.

Hope keeps you joyful. Patience keeps you steady. Prayer keeps you connected. Whatever you're facing, don't let go of any of the three.

Psalm 28
Romans 12:12

Boldness does not mean a lack of fear.
It’s saying yes in the face of fear. Whatever path you're on— God has a purpose, and He's making use of it. (Acts 4:23-31)

Philippians 1:6 “I am fully convinced that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Paul reminds the Philippians that the Christian life is God’s work from start to finish. Spiritual growth is not an event, but a process that God Himself is committed to completing. There are days when you feel you are making little progress. You still struggle with the same weaknesses and wonder if you are truly changing. Do not judge God’s work by a single day or even a single phase. The One who began the work in you has not abandoned it. He continues to mold you, even when changes seem slower than you expected.

Jesus: The Friend of Publicans and Sinners

The Son of man is come eating and drinking;�and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man,�and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! (Luke 7:34)

Jesus was called the Friend of Publicans and Sinners — not a complimentary term in His day. Jewish people especially hated publicans because publicans had “sold out” to the enemy, i.e., Rome. Roman officials “sold” Jewish citizens the right to collect taxes for Rome. These publicans bought the right to collect taxes, and then they added their profits or wages. If an unwilling Jewish taxpayer refused to pay his taxes, Roman soldiers were used to reinforce the publican’s demands. Publicans were religiously unclean because they fellowshipped with Gentiles, and they were morally unclean for taking advantage of the poor and the innocent. Because the common people hated publicans, when Jesus went to eat with them, some observers questioned Jesus’ motives—or at least His judgment.

Jesus responded to this criticism: “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance” (Mark 2:17).

Lord Jesus, You did not come just for good people, but You came to save all kinds of sinners, including me.

The Jewish people also criticized Jesus for eating with sinners. There were people of Jewish blood who refused to keep the Jewish law, to attend the Sabbath observance and to honor God. The average Jewish person considered a "sinner" to be lost. But Jesus wanted everyone to know that He came into the world to save one and all—no matter if their behavior was righteous or sinful.

Jesus, You were the Friend of Publicans and Sinners while on Earth. Now You welcome all people to salvation.

Jesus loves and accepts any and all, no matter if their behavior is righteous or sinful. (Go Deeper: Luke 5:27-32)

Choices and Consequences! (Daniel 6:10-28)

Each choice we make influences our life's path and decisions. God gives us freedom to choose, but He also lovingly invites us to choose the path that leads to wisdom, joy, and worthwhile life. Even when we’ve made mistakes, His grace offers a new beginning and the strength to take the next faithful step.

"Everything is permissible for me—but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible for me—but I will not be mastered by anything." (1 Corinthians 6:12)

Key Bible verses:
* Deuteronomy 30:19: Highlights the choice between life and death.
* Galatians 6:7-8: Explains the principle of reaping what is sown.
* Proverbs 14:12: Warns against following paths that seem right but lead to destruction.

Rest At God’s Table, Even In The Battle…

Both Psalm 23 and Psalm 5 paint the picture of a banquet, or a party, at an unlikely time—not just when good times are happening but when you’re under attack!

King David knew what it meant to be attacked spiritually, emotionally, verbally, physically, and mentally . As a young man, he was anointed by the prophet Samuel to be the next king of Israel, but Saul was still king and decided to kill him. David had to hide from Saul in caves while lies were being told about him across the kingdom. Yet David never retaliated, because God was preparing him to be a king who followed God’s heart.

David said of God, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies” (Psalm 23:5).
Does it sound like David was stressed out? No! He didn’t have to use up all his energy defending himself, because he trusted God to be his defender.

It takes a lot of obedience, faithful servant and humility to trust God and rest when you’re under attack, when you’re misunderstood, and when rumors are spreading about you. When that happens, everything in you wants to rise up and do something about it. How do you handle people who attack you? You don’t. You let God handle them (Exodus 14:14).

Trust God to be your defender (Ephesians 6:10-20).

Not only does God want to defend you, but he also wants to fellowship with you. Psalm 5:11 this way: “You’ll welcome us with open arms when we run for cover to you. Let the party last all night! Stand guard over our celebration.”

If you’re in the heat of the battle right now, God knows about it. Maybe you’re fighting for your job, your health, your sanity, or your dignity. While the battle is going on, God wants to throw a banquet for you to offer just a little encouragement.

God wants to host a banquet on a battlefield. That kind of encouragement is available to you today when you surrender your worry, pain, and control to Jesus and rest in his promises to you.

If you’re a child of God, your heavenly Father is proud of you. Critics may spite you, slander you, ignore you, ridicule you, or libel you, but they can’t stop God’s blessing on your life.
As the Bible says, “He brought me to his banquet hall and raised the banner of love over me” (Song of Solomon 2:4).

What a remarkable day at Barton Spring Creek in Zilker Park, Austin, Texas, as miracles do happen. Almighty God, Your children have repented and baptized.
Praise the Lord that a woman Mabel and teenage boy Joaquin decided to ask Jesus as a Savior in their life and be baptized yesterday and I will rejoice in God’s plan and God’s will: that His children walk together in unity (Ephesians 4:3-6)

Java with Jesus

Before I ever encourage someone else…
before I teach…
before I lead…

I begin every morning with a cup of coffee in one hand and my prayer list in the other.

Those quiet moments with the Lord shape everything that follows.

I’ve learned that public ministry is only as strong as private devotion.

Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray. If the Son of God needed quiet time with His Father, how much more do we?

The temptation in leadership is to spend all our time preparing messages, solving problems, and caring for others.

But our first calling is not to produce.

It’s to abide.

Before you shepherd God’s people, spend time with the Chief Shepherd. The strength people see in public is forged in the quiet place with Christ.

“Apart from Me you can do nothing.”(John 15:5)

Joyful and peace to each of you this Lord’s Day.

To my cherished brothers and sisters who follow Jesus…

Pray that Spiritual Growth may Overflow… May Obedience and Faithfulness be plentiful! (Ephesians 3:1-21)

You have been on my heart.

Although I've been encouraged to share this with you today.

Please know that even while I’ve been away, you have never been far from my thoughts or my prayers. Before each morning's dawn and every evening's dusk, I offer blessings to these dear spiritual disciples before our Heavenly Father. It is truly a privilege to pray for each of you.

The words below are not Scripture, but they reminded me of an important truth. Our identity is not found in the opinions of others, the wounds they inflict, or the labels they place upon us.

Our essence is anchored solely in the blood of Jesus. We belong to Him. His purpose for our lives is not changed by betrayal, rejection, criticism, or opposition.

If this uplifts your spirit today, may it also guide you to focus on Jesus and remind you of your identity, so you can faithfully obey and follow.

I miss our discipleship, fellowship, accountability and look forward to the day I can return more fully. Until then, know that you remain in my prayers every day.

May the Lord bless you, strengthen you, protect you, and fill you with His perfect peace.

Awesome is God

The Words of God are the source of life.

For my recent weekend, I provided premarital counseling; it's an honor to officiate at the wedding that occurred at Baker Park in Frederick, Maryland yesterday. (1 John 4:16-19)

"We've gathered to observe a lovely coupling as [Joseph and Tania]. Let's express our love and support for this dear couple on this very special day." (Lamentation 3:22-26)

"Fondly, with joyful spirits, let us unite to honor their wonderful union as they embark on this incredible marriage journey." (Ephesians 5:21-33)

Thank You for Your Living Word, my Lord Jesus, the light of the world...

Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who fills, comforts, counsels and guides me each day.

Here's the greeting for today's prayer!

Dear Lord God,
Thank You for being my helper...
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me;�LORD, be my helper! (Psalm 30:10)

So we may boldly say: ‘The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Hebrews 13:6)�
Thank You for opening Your arms and welcoming me to come to You, to find rest in You, to find freedom in You, to have abundant life in You.
I cry out to You now for those who are heavy on my heart, for those who are going through the fire and those who are going through the valleys; for those who face difficulties and those who have come through trials and are triumphant because of You.
I pray that you would be their helper.

Pour out Your Joy and mercy, Your peace and love, Your blessing upon their lives. (James 1:2-4)

I pray for miracles and hope for each person.

I pray that all who are weary will cry out to You and trust You to give what they need, as Jesus promised. (James 1:5-27)
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

Thank You for all that You have done and all that You will do.

May Your works and miracles in our lives be a witness to everyone that You are God our helper.

May You be glorified and may all people be reached by Your love and salvation. In the kind name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
