Fatherhood reflects something of God's own heart: faithful presence, patient guidance, steadfast love, and abundant grace. Today we thank God for the fathers and father figures in this community and for the many ways they help shape our lives and our faith. We also hold space for those for whom this day carries grief, longing, or loss. May God's love and comfort meet each of us wherever this day finds us.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is precious, hard-won, and worth celebrating.

Throughout Scripture, God hears the cries of the oppressed and leads people toward liberation and hope. Today we give thanks for the enduring witness of those who persevered through injustice and for the freedom God desires for all His children.

We are delighted to welcome the Rev. Dr. Mark D. Roberts as our guest preacher this Sunday, June 7. A longtime friend of Covenant, Mark is a Senior Fellow at Fuller Seminary’s Max De Pree Center for Leadership, where he writes the daily devotional Life for Leaders and helps people integrate faith into everyday life. Mark and his wife, Linda, live in Pasadena, California. We look forward to learning from his wisdom and experience this weekend.
