Islamic Center of Greater Austin (ICGA) ICGA property is WAQF under NAIT. ICGA is governed by a constitution and its by-laws. All members of these boards are elected per the constitution.

The Islamic Center of Greater Austin (ICGA) was established in March 1977 as a non-profit religious organization registered with the State of Texas and is affiliated with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), which is a subsidiary of ISNA, as its trustee. The structure of ICGA consists of an administrative body called Board of Trustees (BT).

• 9-10 AM
• 10-11 AM

Alhamdulillah, today we had a wonderful Convert Social focused on a beautiful Sunnah — archery.

Imam Dawood opened the gathering by sharing a narration whose meaning highlights the virtue of archery:

“Learn archery, for what is between the two targets is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.”

While the exact chain of this narration is weak, its meaning is supported by authentic narrations that encourage archery and praise it as a beneficial and rewarding activity.

Archery was one of the skills encouraged by our beloved Prophet ﷺ, teaching discipline, patience, focus, and strength. It was a blessing to come together. These gatherings are a beautiful reminder that Islam encompasses every aspect of our lives—from worship and knowledge to community and personal growth.

We pray that Allah accepts our efforts and allows us to continue reviving the beautiful Sunnahs of our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
