The Vine's Sunday morning worship service

Fifteen people from The Vine showed up to help a mom and her kids in our church community move on Saturday- a week before school starts. She asked for help. The church said "we got y'all".

They got there Saturday morning and by Sunday afternoon the house was done. Not mostly done.... fully done. Every box empty and broken down, art and photographs on the walls, the whole kitchen put away, clothes folded into dressers.

People ran out for the things that always get missed in a move- the kitchen trash can, the "uh oh- daughter actually needs a dresser".... Somebody brought flowers and set them on the counter.

They spent the longest on the kids’ rooms. Both of them completely finished before the kids came home. Beds made, books on the shelves, toys in a dollhouse--- and ugly closet doors? Removed and in the garage. Nothing left for the kids to do but walk in.

The community member in need almost didn’t send that text asking for help. Everyone who came told her they were glad she did.
