St. George's Episcopal Church

St. George's Episcopal Church ๐ŸŒฟ St. Georgeโ€™s Episcopal Church โ€“ Austin, TX
Faith, community, and hope in the heart of Austin. St. George's was founded on the boundless enthusiasm of the Rt.

An open and welcoming church where all are invited to worship, serve, and grow together in Godโ€™s love. George's is a community of compassion and love striving to be a beacon of peace and justice in Austin. Rev. John Hines, then a Bishop of Texas, later the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. Gathering a small group of Episcopalians on what was the very north edge the city in 1950, Bishop Hin

es arranged for the purchase and relocation (under the cover of night, in a dash across the main runway of Austin's airport) of a surplus army chapel from Bastrop's Camp Swift, onto property newly purchased by the young congregation. In December 1989, St. George's became the first faith community in Austin to open its doors to the homeless on freezing winter nights. As we encounter the 21st century, the people of St. George's remain committed to ministries of outreach, hospitality, pastoral care, and other opportunities that call upon us to carry out our mission.

As we look forward to celebrating Father's Day, we reflect on the beautiful blessing of fatherhood and the vital role fathers, grandfathers, and father figures play in our lives.
๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ They guide our steps, lift us up, and show us a glimpse of God's unconditional love.

The Scriptures remind us of this tender bond: "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him." (Psalm 103:13) ๐Ÿ“–

Dads truly make life a little louder, a little funnier, and a lot more awesome. We are deeply grateful for the laughter, strength, and faith they share with our church family. www.saintgeorgesaustin.org

โœจ A Historic Milestone for St. Georgeโ€™s โœจ
This upcoming Sunday, June 14th, will be a deeply meaningful day in our parish life!

We warmly invite you to join us as we celebrate our affordable housing ministry and gather for a historic announcement concerning the future of St. Georgeโ€™s Court.

During our 10:30 AM Sunday service, we will share a special prayer of blessing for our neighbors at the Court and our partners at National Church Residences. โ˜• Afterward, please stay with us for Coffee Hour at 11:45 AM. This will be a wonderful time of fellowship to share important updates on these community developments.

Come celebrate and share in the joy of this new season for our church family!

Join us this Sunday as we gather in worship and community! ๐ŸŒฟ

At St. George's Episcopal Church, we celebrate that all people are beloved children of God, and everyone is welcome just as they are.

This week marks Trinity Sunday, a special day where we reflect on the beautiful mystery of God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, reminding us that the very nature of God is rooted in perfect community and love.

We also begin our journey into Ordinary Time. Far from being routine, this "ordered" season is a sacred space for spiritual growth, nurturing our faith, and discovering extraordinary grace in our everyday lives.
