Nueces Mosque Nueces Mosque is a Muslim place of worship that was founded by the UT Muslim Students' Association in 1977.

Located in the heart of Austin, it serves the diverse population of downtown Austin as well as students from The University of Texas at Austin. Nueces Mosque is a Muslim place of worship that was founded and continues to run upon the way of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama`ah (The Way of the Prophetic Sunnah and all of the Honorable Sahabah (rady Allah anhum)). Nueces Mosque was founded by the UT Musl

im Students' Association in 1977 and was the first mosque in Austin. Located in the heart of Austin, it serves the diverse population of downtown Austin as well as students from The University of Texas and Austin Community College. Nueces Mosque is run by an executive committee comprised of college students and a Board of Directors comprised of professionals. Nueces has many programs and services, including weekly educational and Islamic events, service events, and interfaith events. Salaam everyone!
We’re thrilled to announce that our welcome home week will take place from Saturday, August 22nd to Friday, August 28th, insha Allah! Each event will be unique and everyone is welcome to attend as we prepare to take on another semester!

🏠 Day 1: Open House
We welcome our students and their families to your new home-away-from-home. Drop by anytime between 2:00pm & 6:30pm to tour the masjid, meet org leaders, and get to know the community.

🍪 Day 2 (evening): Tasty Tuesday × Game Night
Join us after Maghreb for cookie decorating, board games, and a scavenger hunt!

🎟️ Day 3: Carnival Day
Stop by anytime between 6:00pm and Maghreb for an evening of games, treats, and community! Sip on matcha from Sip Cha, grab some Pudding Baba, build your own tostilocos, get your henna done, and play some competitive games too. See you there!

🌙 Day 4: Nueces Night
Join us from Maghreb to Isha for a night of reflection, good vibes, and community, as Imam Anwer shares a powerful reminder. Everyone is welcome and dinner will be provided!
