Manker, Minister of the Church of Christ near Hillsboro, Ohio, preached the first sermon in the Methodist Church in Austin.
1869: Bro. Manker held a second meeting in Austin at the school house.
1869: On September 26th the Church of Christ was organized.
1871: Plans were made for a new building. Manker preached for the next three years.
1875: Started practicing weekly Communion.

1876: The bell was installed.
1921: O.A. New life was renewed
1933 – 1938: Harold Dunson preached. Attendance grew from 66 to 144 during his ministry
1936: Named changed to Austin Christian Church.
1940: Morgan Packing Company rapidly expended. The factory brought in many people to work. Church attendance also grew.
1942: Full time preaching began.
1946: Bible School attendance reached an average of 146.
