Gethsemane Lutheran Church Gethsemane is an historic, alive church. "We are called by grace led by faith welcoming all to share God's love."

God’s grace is lived out in the daily lives of Gethsemane members as they go from our community of faith to homes, neighborhoods, and places of work. Sunday worship is central to the life of the community where we are welcomed together in morning worship and Sunday classes are offered for all ages from age two through adult. We are empowered and sent out to share the gospel good news of peace, forgiveness, and love.

It's that time of year....

Gethsemane continues its long-held tradition of supporting one of our neighbors and partners in our community, T.A. Brown Elementary School!

This "Christmas in July" celebration will be on July 26, commemorating Dr. Carl Candoli's birthday (July 25), former GLC member and the late husband of Joan Candoli. We use Dr. Candoli's birthday to give back to our neighboring school just as he gave as an educator (PhD) and community leader with his belief that "Every Child Can Learn".

"Carl dedicated his life to educating all children, irrespective of background, income, or ethnicity. As a first generation American, he embraced all cultures, and believed that good education was for everyone..."

Our history with T.A. Brown goes back to 1962-63 when this Gethsemane church building was being built. T.A. Brown generously allowed Gethsemane to conduct services and Sunday school in their building.

A Christmas tree will be set up in the Narthex beginning Sunday, July 19 with donation tags!

We need to raise at least $1,000 to meet our goal! Last year, we raised, $3,000 not including the donated school supplies. The funds raised will allow T.A. Brown to buy school supplies from AISD, which goes a lot farther to help them get through the school year. You can give monetary donations by check made out to GLC or online via the link below.
