OPEN RANGE NEW MEXICO 2026 WAS EPIC!

14 boys and 4 men made the journey from Austin to the mountains of New Mexico last week. We experienced heat, cold and even a hailstorm! We rode horses, shot skeet,rafted the Rio Grande and slept in tents all week( one night at Williams Lake11000 ft above sea level!). The gospel was taught and lived out during every activity. God changed hearts and two young men were baptized into his kingdom in the river at our camp! We were going to do it at the alpine lake but a hailstorm interrupted us 😲. A special thanks goes out to all of the generous donors who made this trip possible! Your donations are helping disciple these young men much more than I can explain here. We had Jesus moments every step of the way while participating in this grand adventure! Thank you!

An early morning for KOZ Warriors headed to NM today! They are excited for a week of hiking the tallest peak in NM, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, fishing and NRA Whittington center. But as always with KOZ the main goal is discipleship. Please pray for safe travels and tender hearts for Jesus.

GREAT DAY AT KOZ!

We celebrated our 7 year anniversary of KOZ today! One of the young men who was at our first KOZ day, Anthony AKA Bullseye now 18 years old taught the Bible lesson!
We celebrated the shooting sports and the grand finale was blowing up some Tannerite!
As always, we started with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the KOZ Prayer. Next was gun safety where the boys learned, guns are tools and only do what the holder of the tool allows. In short, guns are not dangerous but we are! Next it was on to the shooting range for high velocity fun! They shot .22,.410, .223 and some even shot a .375 H&H Magnum! Then Bullseye’s Bible lesson (he did hit the mark😉). We wrapped up with pizza followed by sit spot cards. Sit spots are a wonderful tool where the boys write down something they learned today and a prayer request. Some are light hearted and some will tear your heart out 😢. America was celebrated and GOD was glorified!

KOZ Warriors had a Bible lesson and learned about predators native to central Texas including Wolves in sheep’s clothing! (Matthew 7:15).

They got to experiment with several different types of traps from primitive to modern, from snares and deadfalls to pet proof c**n cuffs.

Afterwards, they did a little fishing because there was water with fish in it and we are KOZ!

We had some boys who were there for the first time and one young man who has been a part of our group since we started 7 years ago!

Lastly, they learned about some different types of traps that men of all ages fall into. (1John 2:16)

KOZ WARRIORS

Learned how to handle a canoe and cooled off in the Colorado River. 3 boys got their Bibles and their Dog tags. But we started the day by helping clean up trash at the Texas River School because serving is what we do at
KOZ CHRISTIAN LIFE AUSTIN.

Another great KOZ outing!

Today, we taught the boys how to navigate using a compass. Over rough terrain, across a creek and up a big hill, they navigated in an almost straight line to the foot of the cross. There they learned about Jesus’ sacrifice on Golgotha.

Next, they navigated back across the ranch, having to go around a fence line, through thick brush to an impassable bluff. They figured out their way around it with the help of a guide and ended up at an empty tomb! There they learned about the glorious resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Great time turkey hunting with 3 of my KOZ boys! We got to watch 5 gobblers put on a show but only one would commit and get close enough. Great shot at 35 yards! Later we had a little excitement with this rattlesnake. We used it as a great lesson on paying attention to details when you’re out in the wild. One young man is soon to be wearing a nice belt or hat band👍
