Barry Thompson was one of Austin Christian Fellowship founding fathers. For over forty years Barry lived, learned and poured himself into loving his church family guided by his personal relationship with Jesus. He was blessed with being prophetic, given to Godly wisdom, and especially in encouraging many to learn and be equipped in the work of ministry. He would take people along with him and let them minister to so many; they would grow in confidence in sharing and encouraging those they ministered to. So many benefited and are still ministering and loving on those they encounter to this day .

Our beloved friend, Bruce Ekern, passed on September 28th, at 7:25 AM. His heart of worship for our Lord and King is being experienced in even a greater manner. Bruce has been faithful in advancing Gods' kingdom through his love for his family, his music, teaching, friendships, compassion and humor. Please keep his family in prayer during this time. .

"Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its' shame and is sitted at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2
This scripture brings great comfort; the joy set before Him was us. God had a plan to redeem the human race, and gave Himself because of His great love.
"There is no greater love than to lay down ones' life for ones' friends." John 15:13

During the Last Supper in the upper room, Jesus washed the disciples feet. (Matthew 26:14-39 and John 13:1-17)
We are called to serve one another in love and humility. "I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done for you." (John 13:15)

To bless someone involves invoking Gods' favor or a gift bestowed by God on another.
Proverbs 16:20 is a blessing God has given us and it has given me much comfort and hope for many years. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
God has blessed us so richly. Look for opportunities to bless others through actions or words of life.

Just as a sheep knows the voice of the shepherd, we can know and rely on Gods' voice to give wisdom, comfort, guidance, direction and hope.
Psalm 23 is a powerful prayer as we seek the Lord for direction; He will guide us as we follow Him. Knowing that He is with us through the challenges and difficult seasons of life gives strength, comfort, and peace. He knows our needs and provides; His promises are true.
