It may have been a wet and cloudy St. Francis Feast Day, but we had 10 pets in person and many in spirit (and one stuffie), all worshipped well in community and received a blessing. It also happens to be Rev Alyssa's birthday and she received a blessing as well.

Pilgrimage update: Our last day in England. We made our way to the Temple Church where we were given an organ demonstration by Charles Andrew’s, liturgical organist for the church. He is also professor of organ at the Royal College of Music. There is a vast history of this church, one era being the protection of pilgrims by the Knights Templar as they made their way to Jerusalem.

We celebrated our final group meal together at The Happenstance across from St. Paul’s and then made our way to the Cathedral for a specialized tour where we were honored as a group from the Episcopal Church in Texas. The history in St. Paul’s includes an honorary chapel to the United States, as well as tributes to those citizens who helped save St. Paul’s from the WWII blitz of London.

This was followed by Evensong where we received priority treatment and our presence was announced.

Pilgrimage update: Yesterday was a free day, so the pilgrims played. Our faith is about rest and joy, too!

Pilgrimage update: Pilgrims were off to London today. Figures out the tube, several of us set off to Westminster Abbey for the sung Eucharist celebrating the Feast Day of St. Michael’s and All Angels. A very stunning high Anglo-Catholic liturgy. It was powerful. The Reverend Helena Bickley-Percival, Sacrist preached a very good sermon and The Venerable Jennifer Adams-Massmann presided. Below is a link to the service since (rightfully) no photographs or videos are allowed once the service starts. We ended the day with a hearty pub meal.
