FAMILY MATTERS: HEALING WHAT HOME BROKE ❤️🩹
Misunderstood | Sometimes, what happens at home can affect how we experience God. But even when we feel misunderstood by the people closest to us, God REALLY knows us.
“LORD, You have searched me and known me…” — Psalm 139:1–4
So, what do we do when we feel misunderstood by our parents?
1. Acknowledge their intent: Remember that correction can come from a place of love. Give your parents the benefit of the doubt.
2. Respond, don’t react: Maturity is learning how to respond with wisdom instead of reacting out of emotion. When someone raises their voice, try softening yours.
3. Humble yourself: Be willing to listen, receive correction, take responsibility, and recognize that we all have blind spots. Godly wisdom often comes through the people He places around us.
4. Pray & forgive: Pray for the relationships that are difficult. You may not be able to control someone else’s actions, but you can invite God to work in your heart and in the relationship.
You may feel misunderstood by people, but you are never unknown by God.
