The apostle Paul is trying it get the jews attention regarding their relationship with God. Many Jews thought is was their heritage and thier keeping the LAW that they had this relationship. Paul is telling them it is from Jesus. so how does this apply.

But God wants something better for us: a heart of flesh, soft and responsive to His Spirit.
