Pope Benedict XVI On Good Friday.
“This evening, in faith, we have accompanied Jesus as he takes the final steps of his earthly journey, the most painful steps, the steps that lead to Calvary. We have heard the cries of the crowd, the words of condemnation, the insults of the soldiers, the lamentation of the Virgin Mary and of the women. Now we are immersed in the silence of this night, in the silence of the cross, the silence of death. It is a silence pregnant with the burden of pain borne by a man rejected, oppressed, downtrodden, the burden of sin which mars his face, the burden of evil. Tonight we have re-lived, deep within our hearts, the drama of Jesus, weighed down by pain, by evil, by human sin.”

The Paschal Triduum, the three-day Passover of the Lord, is our Easter festival. begins on Holy Thursday at sunset. We count the days in the Jewish manner, from sunset to sunset. During the Paschal Triduum we enter into the mystery of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord. In this mystery we are created anew, we receive rest and refreshment, and we are raised with Christ into eternal light. This "paschal mystery is the mystery of christening"-baptism, confirmation and eucharist - the mystery of our Passover in Christ.

Wednesday, March 25.
Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.
CCC 484-486 The Annunciation to Mary inaugurates “the fullness of time,” the time of the fulfillment of God’s promises and preparations. Mary was invited to conceive him in whom the “whole fullness of deity” would dwell “bodily.” The divine response to her question, “How can this be, since I know not man?”, was given by the power of the Spirit: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you.”
485 The mission of the Holy Spirit is always conjoined and ordered to that of the Son. The Holy Spirit, “the Lord, the giver of Life,” is sent to sanctify the womb of the Virgin Mary and divinely fecundate it, causing her to conceive the eternal Son of the Father in a humanity drawn from her own.
486 The Father’s only Son, conceived as man in the womb of the Virgin Mary, is “Christ,” that is to say, anointed by the Holy Spirit, from the beginning of his human existence, though the manifestation of this fact takes place only progressively: to the shepherds, to the magi, to John the Baptist, to the disciples. Thus the whole life of Jesus Christ will make manifest “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.”

Palm Sunday.
Vigil Mass (3/28) 4:30p.m.
7:30, 9:30 a.m. English (3/29) and
11:30a.m Spanish.
What happens on Palm Sunday?
At Palm Sunday, churchgoers receive palms, hear The Passion and prepare for Holy Week.
Why do churches give out palms?
Palms commemorate Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, as Scripture (John 12:13) tells us the crowd welcomed Him by waving palms.
What happens to the palms?
The palms distributed on Palm Sunday will form the ashes distributed on Ash Wednesday to begin Lent the following year.
Is Palm Sunday a Catholic thing?
Palm Sunday is an important day in the Catholic faith, but other Christian religions also recognize the day.
Why do we make crosses on Palm Sunday?
Some people choose to turn their palm leaves into crosses as a reminder of the meaning of the day, but it’s not required. Keeping the palm leaves straight is totally fine.

St. Patrick's Breastplate, also known as The Lorica of Saint Patrick, is a prayer attributed to one of Ireland’s most beloved patron saints. According to tradition, St. Patrick wrote it in 433 A.D. for divine protection before successfully converting the Irish King Leoghaire and his subjects from paganism to Christianity. It is a spiritual shield used for protection against vice, temptation, and negativity.

The prayer is often shortened to the 15 lines below to focus on the abiding presence of Christ.

Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

Ash Wednesday Mass: February 18, 2026
8AM, 5:30PM, 7PM (SP); 12PM (Ash Service)
Ashes used on Ash Wednesday are created by burning the blessed palm branches from the previous year's Palm Sunday. These palms are collected, burned into a fine powder, and mixed with holy water to create a paste for application on the forehead.
Symbolism: The ashes represent mortality, repentance, and mourning for sins as the 40-day Lenten season begins
