Graduation is more than the end of a school year. It is the beginning of a new mission.

At the Baccalaureate Mass, we entrust our graduating seniors to the mercy and guidance of God as they prepare for what comes next. Whether they are headed to college, the military, or the workforce, our prayer is that they remain close to Christ wherever life leads them.

The lessons learned here go beyond the classroom. Faith, discipline, brotherhood, service, and the pursuit of truth are things we hope they carry for the rest of their lives.

We are proud of this graduating class and grateful to have been part of their journey. May they go forward with courage, purpose, and the love of God guiding every step.

Before websites, social media, and smartphones, vocation recruiting looked a little different.

These old pages from a vintage Marmion vocation booklet give a glimpse into how the monks invited young people to consider the Benedictine life decades ago. Different era. Same mission.

What is especially amazing is that a couple familiar faces are hidden in these photos. Keep an eye out for Fr. Michael and Abbot Joel back in the day. Can you find them?

While the methods may have changed over the years, the call to prayer, community, and a life dedicated to God remains the same.

Maybe these old photos are not just a look into the past. Maybe they are an invitation for the future.

What makes a Catholic education different?

According to Abbot Joel, it is not simply about information. It is about formation.

A truly Catholic education teaches students how to think, how to seek truth, and how to live with purpose. It forms the mind, the character, and the soul. Faith is not separated from daily life. It becomes the foundation for it.

In a world that constantly pulls people in different directions, Catholic education provides something steady. A grounding in truth, virtue, discipline, and the person of Jesus Christ.

This is why the mission matters so deeply to us. We are not only preparing students for careers. We are helping form them for life.

If you feel called to a life rooted in faith, community, and purpose, come and see what Benedictine life is all about.

Last Friday, we celebrated the Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker.

A man who showed us what it means to work quietly, faithfully, and with purpose. Day after day.

At the monastery, this day is also about gratitude. We welcome those who work alongside us, share a meal, and recognize the many hands that make this life possible. Hospitality is not just a value here. It is a way of life.

In a world that moves fast and chases recognition, Saint Joseph reminds us that meaningful work is often done without attention. But it matters deeply.

May we all strive to do our work with the same humility, consistency, and care.

If you feel called to something more, come experience this life for yourself:

A school is more than academics. It shapes the whole person.

At the heart of a truly Catholic education is something deeper than grades or achievements. It is about forming students in truth, discipline, and faith. It is about teaching them not just how to succeed, but how to live.

A Catholic identity means that Christ is not an afterthought. He is the center. In the classroom, on the field, in daily life, everything points back to Him.

This is the mission entrusted to us. To form individuals who are grounded, courageous, and guided by something greater than themselves.

If you feel called to be part of a life dedicated to faith, formation, and community, come and see what that looks like.

A monk making an omelet might not be what you expect.

But the Benedictine life is not about escaping the world. It is about living it with intention. Cooking a meal, cleaning a space, sharing time with brothers. These are not distractions from prayer. They are part of it.

The simple life is not empty. It is full of purpose. Full of rhythm. Full of meaning found in the everyday.

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to live a life rooted in prayer, community, and real, tangible work, maybe it is time to come and see.

You should go and pray to your mother.

In the Catholic life, Mary is not distant. She is close. She is present. She is always ready to receive you.

At the monastery, there are constant reminders of her care. In the chapel, along the rosary walk, in quiet shrines, and sacred spaces set apart for prayer. No matter where you are, you are never far from her.

She is a mother who listens. A mother who intercedes. A mother who leads you closer to her Son.

Sometimes the simplest step is the most important one. Go to her. Speak to her. Trust her.

If you are searching for something deeper, a life rooted in prayer and devotion, maybe you are being called to explore it.

For centuries, monasteries have been places where knowledge is preserved, studied, and passed on.

The library is not just a room full of books. It is part of a living tradition. Monks have long served as scholars, teachers, and even librarians, dedicating their lives to seeking truth and sharing it with others.

Within these walls, you find more than history. You find a way of life rooted in prayer, study, and community. A life where faith and intellect are not separated, but brought together.

If you have ever felt drawn to something deeper, a life with purpose, discipline, and meaning, maybe you are being called to explore it.

For centuries, monks preserved the Word of God by hand.

Long before printing presses and digital screens, Benedictine monks spent countless hours carefully writing and illuminating the Scriptures. Every page was an act of devotion. Every word was written with reverence.

That tradition of honoring truth, beauty, and knowledge is still alive today.

Inside the monastery library, books are not just stored. They are treasured. They remind us that what we study shapes who we become, and that slowing down to engage with what is good and true still matters.

If you feel drawn to a life rooted in prayer, discipline, and purpose, maybe you are being called to something more.

Step inside the archives of Marmion Abbey and you will find something powerful. A moment frozen in time. A vow chart from 1937 where a monk gave everything to God and signed his life to a higher calling.

These are not just words on paper. They are promises that shape a life. Obedience. Poverty. Chastity. Stability. Conversion of life.

The same call still echoes today.

If you have ever felt that pull toward something greater, something deeper, something lasting, it may not be by chance. It may be your vocation.

Join a brotherhood that has stood the test of time.
