Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church

Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church is one of 105 parishes in the 11-county service area of the Rockford Diocese.

Our parish is a source of faith, service, and comfort in a unique intersection of urban, suburban, and rural areas. Since 1875, this beautiful, Gothic-style stone church - with its soaring steeple and pealing bells - has welcomed members home for a deeply spiritual experience of faith and life. The mission and ministries of the Church echo the example of Mary, the Blessed Virgin, who became a vehi

cle of grace during her miraculous experience. Mary is our first disciple, our model of grace, who delivered Jesus our Savior to the world. Annunciation welcomes our members into a community of faith with a Christ-centered, genuinely welcoming experience. Whatever brings you to our church, you are always welcome to our blessed home!

Today is Corpus Christi Sunday (the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ). Following the 11:30 am Mass, our parish will process with Jesus—truly present in the Blessed Sacrament—in a solemn Eucharistic Procession.

All are welcome—children, families, visitors, and any one who simply wants to spend a few more minutes with the Lord. No special preparation is needed. Just come. Just walk. Just adore.

When you participate in a Eucharistic procession, remember that you are providing a visual witness to the Truth for others to see. The Feast of Corpus Christi and Eucharistic processions serve as a reminder that Christ is truly present here with us in the Eucharist — and that He is not meant to stay locked away, but rather to be carried out into the world so that every one might encounter Him.

Today we celebrate The Most Holy Trinity Sunday.

The Holy Trinity is the central mystery of our Catholic faith. Three persons, one God, perfect communion of life and love.

Sprinkle this prayer throughout your week: "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, help me to love as you love."
