Likes can rise. Reach can fall. Applause can disappear.

None of it gets to decide who you are or what God asked you to do.

If the response of people becomes your compass, you will keep changing direction every time the numbers change.

Let your time with God shape you before the internet does. Let His voice be louder than the metrics.

If you’ve ever opened your Bible and thought, “I’m reading the words, but I’m not sure I understand what’s happening here,” you’re not alone.

That’s one reason we encouraged everyone during First Wednesday to consider investing in a good study Bible.

A study Bible can help you understand things like:

✅ Who wrote the book
✅ Who they were writing to
✅ What was happening historically
✅ What comes before and after a passage
✅ Important people, places, themes, and cross references
✅ How the truth of the passage connects to everyday life

And that matters because we don’t want to just collect Bible verses.

We want to understand God’s Word so deeply that it begins to shape the way we live.

As you read, keep asking:

1. What does this teach me about God?
2. What does this reveal about people, including me?
3. How should this change the way I live?

We included three study Bibles in this carousel that are worth considering:

📖 NLT Illustrated Study Bible
Great for visual learners and anyone who appreciates maps, charts, illustrations, and an approachable translation.

📖 NIV Application Bible
Great for connecting the meaning of Scripture to real-life decisions, relationships, and discipleship.

📖 ESV Study Bible
Great for readers who want detailed notes and a more in-depth study resource.

These are not the only quality study Bibles available. The goal isn’t to convince everyone to buy the same one.

The best study Bible is the one you will actually open, read, study, and use consistently.

One important reminder: the study notes are helpful, but they are not Scripture. They are tools written by people to help you better understand the inspired Word of God.

So pick one. Open it. Read slowly. Ask questions. Follow the context. And allow God’s Word to form you.

DON’T JUST START THE MONTH BUSY. START IT PRAYED UP. 🔥

Tomorrow morning, PCC family, we are gathering for PRAY FIRST, and there is a place in the room for you!

We began September with our very first First Wednesday. Tomorrow, we continue what we started.

First Wednesday plus Pray First is how we give God the first part of our month, a tithe of our time, so we can enter the month spiritually strong.

For one focused hour, we will seek God, cover our families, our church, and our city in prayer, and align our hearts with His plans for the month ahead.

Understanding the Bible is not the finish line.

The goal of Bible study is not merely information. IT’S FORMATION.

God didn’t give us His Word just so we could collect verses, win theological arguments, or explain what a passage means.

He gave us His Word so that it could change us.

✅ Our thinking
✅ Our decisions
✅ Our relationships
✅ Our habits
✅ Our character
✅ Our obedience

James 1:22 says, “Don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says.”

So when you open your Bible, don’t only ask, “Do I understand this?”

Ask:

1️⃣ What is this teaching me about God?
2️⃣ What is this showing me about myself?
3️⃣ How is God calling me to respond?

Because you haven’t finished studying Scripture when you understand what it says.

You’re not finished until the Word starts showing up in the way you live.

This was one of the lessons from our very first First Wednesday at Purpose City, and we’re just getting started.

WHAT A NIGHT, PURPOSE CITY! 🙌🏽

Nearly 200 people gathered for our inaugural First Wednesday, and God met us in a powerful way.

We worshiped together. We prayed together. We received Communion together. And we opened God’s Word and went deeper together.

From the first song to the final prayer, the room was filled with faith, hunger, unity, and an unmistakable sense of God’s presence. This was more than a service, it was the beginning of a new monthly rhythm: giving God the first.

And we’re just getting started.

PURPOSE CITY, YOU SHOWED UP! 🙌🏾🔥

Yesterday’s Purpose Groups Rally was a beautiful success! The room was filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, laughter, and people taking their next step toward genuine community.

But the rally may be over, the opportunity is not.

You were never meant to follow Jesus alone. Purpose Groups are where Sunday inspiration becomes Monday application. They are where strangers become family, faith grows stronger, prayers become personal, and people walk beside you through every season of life.

If you walked through the rally but did not sign up, or you missed it completely, there is still a place for you.
