Hey Aurora contractors—we need your help on a really cool project. If you’ve ever been to the Bicentennial Park dog park, you’ve probably noticed that old caretaker’s cottage sitting right next to the fence. It’s been boarded up, empty, and rotting away for over 20 years.
At Serve Aurora, we are trying to change that. We're pitching a plan to the city to take over the building and turn it into a Community Resource & Outreach Hub—a safe place to help local families, distribute basic needs, and keep our parks safe. But here’s the catch: before the city hands over the keys, we have to prove we actually have the manpower to fix it up.
That's where you come in. We’re looking for licensed local pros who are willing to team up with us and donate some labor or materials to get this place up to code.
We specifically need:
🚰 Plumbers (to get the water running again)
⚡ Electricians (to update the old wiring and panels)
💨 HVAC Techs (to get the heating working)
🛠️ Drywallers, Painters, & Handymen (to fix up the inside)
Just to be clear: We aren't swinging hammers today! Right now, we just need a simple written note or email from you saying what you’d be willing to help with once the city gives us the green light.
Since we’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your time and materials are 100% tax-deductible, and we will shout your business from the rooftops as a founding partner of the hub. If you love this city and want to use your trade to make a massive, tangible difference, we’d love to have you on the team.
