“You know sometimes when i can't sleep at night I might post my thoughts on Facebook...and sometimes those thoughts can be longer than normal...long post warning!
I just wanted to post something on Jake for anyone who hadn't heard about what happened to him or wanted an update.
Because Jo worded it better than I ever could, I copied what she posted when they got the final diagnosis of what caused Jake‘s stroke and what needed to be done for him.
Jo's Post:
As you all know Jake had a stroke March 30th, well.... we were told he had PFO, patent foramen ovale. Which is a small hole between the right and left atrium. We found out today at our surgery consultation, that yes he does have a hole in his heart but it is quite a bit larger than they thought. And the surgeon said that he actually has ASD, atrial septal defect. Good news is that it can still be fixed by surgery. But, there is more risk due to the size and position of his hole. And there is more down time and time to be careful. We still don't have a date for surgery.... But we will stay faithful and give it all to God.
Surgery Update:
Jake is having surgery to repair his heart this coming Friday, May13th. I know, Friday the 13th! But then I just smiled and thought of Elijah against the 450 prophets of Baal seeing which one could call down fire from heaven on their sacrifice. After the prophets failed, as Elijah knew they would...it was Elijah's turn! But first he told them to pour water over his sacrifice, not once, not twice, but three times, to the point where not only the sacrifice was soaked but the water ran down and filled the trench around the altar. Then we all know what happened...Elijah called on God to send down fire and fire came down and consumed not only Eljah's altar but the prophets of baal's altar too! Elijah was just showing that God, our Father can do anything He wants to do, even if it seems impossible in man's sight. So, go ahead and schedule Jake's surgery on Friday the 13th...we know God shows up for His children whether the sacrifice is soaked or a surgery is on Friday the 13th! We ask for your prayers for Jake, Jo & the kids, the surgeon and medical team, the surgery and for Jake to be patient with the healing process! Love you all!”
