Cliffwood Presbyterian Church, a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America. Our worship is reformed and reverential as we seek to sing, read, pray, display (through the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper), and preach the word of God to each other in Sunday worship, to the honor and glory of our Triune God.

Today's family worship lesson: Read Psalm 141. As the psalm concludes in vv. 8-10, what is David’s posture in prayer? Does he already possess the answer to his prayer? Talk about Christ as our comfort as we wait for an answer to prayer. Does God guarantee a set outcome? Since He does not, how does Jesus’ death comfort Christians as they wait in temptation and affliction?

πŸ“– 2 Corinthians 12:1–10

Today's family worship lesson: Read Ephesians 2:11-22. In v. 22, the Church is described as β€œbuilt together” to be God’s dwelling. How does that description take the emphasis off man’s activity in the church? Since the church is God’s dwelling place, talk about how the preaching of the Word, administration of the sacraments, and church discipline show His ownership.

Today's family worship lesson: Read Psalm 141. In vv. 5-7 show how David is distinguishing himself from the evildoers. Point out how David prays against evil and wants to be kept from joining in. Also show what the end of the leaders (judges) of the wicked will be. How is the Christian comforted when he is subject to rulers who govern wickedly?

Today's family worship lesson: Read Ephesians 2:11-22. In v. 21, Ephesians says Christians are β€œjoined together.” Talk about how their unity is based on being together joined to Christ and how it relates to His works in the rest of the book (1:3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 13, 20; 2:5, 6, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18). Finally, look to 1 Pet. 2:5 to see that the Church is only built through Christ.

Today's family worship lesson: Read Psalm 141. In vv. 3-5 look at the different ways David asks for God to keep him from sin. First, see four ways David is tempted to sin: in speech (lips), desire (heart), action (wicked deeds), and delight (delicacies). Show how God at times uses the rebukes of other people to restrain sin. How should we receive a valid rebuke?
