Dear Advent Family,

This Sunday is Holy Trinity Sunday. Worship with Holy Communion is at 9:30am followed by Sunday school. The bulletin is attached and Zoom instructions are at the end of the email.

This Saturday there are two ministry opportunities:
May 30, 8am Evangelism at the River. The Evangelism ministry led by RJ Gentry will have a booth at the River to meet folks and invite them to Advent. We hope you can stop by to say hi and lend a hand in welcoming others in Christ’s name.
May 30, 10am - New Ministry - Cookbook ministry. Sam and Kristy will lead us in making a family Cuban recipe.

We look forward to gathering together this weekend as we serve and praise our God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

In Christ’s love,
Pastor Jason and Pastor Andrea

Dear Advent Family,

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday! The Holy Spirit is alive and active at Advent! Sunday worship will be filled with many examples of the Holy Spirit at work. There will be various languages spoken during the first lesson with flames of the Holy Spirit soaring. There will be a special time in worship to see the Holy Spirit flowing through us and this place. We are excited to welcome new members during worship with the opportunity to affirm our own baptism. There will be a special Pentecost luncheon following worship where we can welcome our new members to the flock. Thank you Joan and the Fellowship Ministry for this special fellowship opportunity.

We hope you can join us for this special time of worship and fellowship. Remember to wear red for this one!

We pray everyone stays safe this Memorial Weekend and we look forward to being together this Sunday!

In Christ’s love,
Pastor Jason and Pastor Andrea

Last week was so powerful to thank God for the splendors of creation. That includes the weather!

Dear Advent Family,

This Sunday is the 4th Sunday of Easter. Worship with Holy Communion is at 9:30am followed by Sunday school. The bulletin for Sunday is attached and Zoom Instructions are at the end of the email.

The fourth Sunday of Easter has come to be known as Good Shepherd Sunday for each year we hear about Jesus as our Good Shepherd. With Earth Day yesterday we want to acknowledge our part as stewards of God’s creation. Worship will emphasize Good Shepherd and Earth Day themes in our singing, thanksgiving for water, prayers and overall worship. After our closing hymn, we will gather in the community garden to stand in God’s creation and give thanks and have our final dismissal. God is the source of life, nourishment, and renewal and we recognize the good shepherd as the One who leads us into right relationship with all creation.

We hope you can join us for worship this Sunday and we are so looking forward to being back with the flock as we worship our Good Shepherd together.

In Christ’s love,
Pastor Jason and Pastor Andrea

Join us on Good Friday, April 3, 7pm. The service is a Tenebrae service where we hear Jesus’ Last Words remembering his crucifixion. After each word, there is a gradual darkness by the extinguishing of candles and light in the sanctuary. This is a solemn service focused on Jesus’ passion, crucifixion, and burial culminating in a darkened sanctuary to symbolize the death of Christ. This service serves as a dramatic transition in Holy Week, allowing for reflection on the gravity of Good Friday before the celebration of Easter.

Join us for Maundy Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 7pm. Maundy Thursday begins the Great Three Days, recalling Jesus’ own words to his disciples that he would be handed over to death, and that “after three days he will rise again” (Mark 10:34). The Three Days encompass the time from Maundy Thursday evening through the evening of Easter Day.
