God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee (Psalm 67:1-3).

We've Come This Far By Faith, Leaning On The Lord...

The message today was taken from the book of Isaiah, the 1st chapter, verses 18-19. Focus verse 18. "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord; though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Subject: Let's Talk About It.

People of God, there are some things in life that simply need to be talked about. There are problems that cannot be solved by ignoring them. There are wounds that cannot be healed by pretending they don't hurt. There are relationships that cannot be restored without honest conversation. There are misunderstandings that cannot be corrected until somebody is willing to sit down and say, "Let's talk about it."

Sometimes we don't want to talk because the conversation may make us uncomfortable. Sometimes we avoid the conversation because we already know what the other person is going to say. Oftentimes we don't want to talk because we know if the truth comes out, we may have to change. And sometimes we don't want to talk because we would rather protect our image than confront our condition.

Highlights: Isaiah 1:18-19.

1. God Invites Us Into Conversation.

2. Sin Can Interfere With Our Communication With God.

3. Sin Does Not Make Us Weak-- It Makes Us Distant.

4. God Does Not Expose Us To Destroy Us.

5. God's Solution Is Greater Than Our Sin.

6. The Blessing Is Connected To Obedience.

7. Sin Makes Us Avoid The Conversation.

Let's Talk About It...

Praise the Lord!!!

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night (Psalm 92:1-2).

The Presence Of The Lord Is Here...

The message today was taken from the book of 2nd Chronicles, the 7th chapter, verse 14. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Subject: When God's People Get In Position.

God has already revealed the pathway from spiritual devastation to restoration. The question is not whether God is able to heal us; the question is whether His people are willing to get in position for Him to do it.

There are scriptures that we quote so often that we become familiar with the words and forget the weight of the message, 2nd Chronicles 7:14 is one of those scriptures. We have heard it at prayer meetings. We have heard it during national crisis.

We have heard it during church anniversaries, revivals, political elections, funerals, community gatherings, and times when our nation was in trouble. But we need slow down and listen to what Gid is actually saying. God says: If my people..."

Highlights: 2nd Chronicles 7:14.

I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name forever and ever. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name forever and ever (Psalm 145:1-2).

I Just Want To Thank You Lord...

The message today was taken from the Epistle of 2nd Corinthians, the 12th chapter, verses 1-10. Focus verse 9. "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." Subject: The Sufficiency Of God.

Church, there are some lessons that God cannot teach us on the mountaintop. There are some things we will never learn when everything is going our way.

There are some revelations that only come when our strength has been exhausted, when our resources have run out, when our plans have failed, when our expectations have been disappointed, and when we finally discover that we are not enough-- but God is! That is the testimony that stands behind our text today.

Paul takes us into a deeply personal moment in his relationship with God. He tells us about an extraordinary spiritual experience. He speaks about revelations, visions, and being caught up into the third heaven. But Paul tells us about something else. He tells us about weakness. He tells us about prayer that did not produce the answer he expected.

And most importantly, he tells us about a God whose grace is sufficient even when God does not remove the thing we asked Him to remove.

Highlights: 2nd Corinthians 12:1-10.

1. The presence of a problem does not prove the absence of God

2. Anything that causes us to glorify ourselves instead of God has become spiritually dangerous.

3. God's sovereignty means God does not have to explain Himself to us.

4. The same God that gave Paul the revelation allowed Paul to experience affliction.

5. The thorn can be a guard against pride.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23).

God Made Me, He Made Me Who I Am...

The message today was delivered by Rev. Maggie McDonald. Text: Judges, the 7th chapter, verses 2-7 & 22. Focus verse 7. "And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand; and let all other people go every man unto his place." Subject: It's A Fixed Fight.

Fight or flight is your body's automatic natural survival reaction to a perceived threat or danger. Oftentimes the only solution is to fight. However we must realize that withdrawal is sometimes necessary. Not all fights are against a physical enemy. We have to fight for our health, fight for our sanity, fight against sickness that attacks our physical bodies, fight for the life we live. And the reality is oftentimes we don't start or cause the fight, but fight we must. Again realizing the fight oftentimes is not meant to break us but to build us up.

Gideon, the star of the text had some insecurities. God called him a mighty warrior, but he didn't think of himself that way. We often ask God why did you choose me? Gideon thought of himself as the lesser of everyone else in his family. He was so fearful that he asked God for a sign as proof that it was indeed God calling on him. Gideon needed some assurances. Isn't that just like us!

God's instructions to Gideon reduced the number of warriors that would go into battle to a number ( from 22 thousand, to 10 thousand, finally to 3 hundred), that was the exact number that God required.

The Shout point: all the people around you won't fight with you, some will fight against you. Gideon initially had a lot of warriors but it wasn't their fight. Oftentimes God will remove folk that are not of the same heart, mind, and spirit. What Gideon finally realized was It Was A Fixed Fight.

Wonderful message Rev. McDonald...

I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of Him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord (Psalm 104:33-34).

The Jesus In Me Loves The Jesus In You... So EasyTo Be Loved.

The message today was taken from the book of Proverbs, the 3rd chapter, verses 3-6.
Focus verses 5-6. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thine ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." Subject: It's Not God's Fault.

My brothers and sisters, we are living in a time and raising a generation that has become comfortable blaming God for the consequences of human decisions. When marriages fail, somebody says, "God let it happen." When children rebel, someone asks, "Where was God?" When finances collapse because of poor stewardship, people wonder why God did not intervene,

When believers ignore His voice, reject His Word, refuse correction, and suffer the consequences, many still accuse Heaven.

Highlights: Proverbs 3:3-6

1. The Character Before The Compass (Verses 3-4). Mercy speaks of compassion. Truth speaks of integrity.

2. Trust Requires Total Surrender (Verse 5a). Trust is more than believing God exists. Trust means depending on Him.

3. Stop Leaning On Yourself (Verse 5b). Stop putting your confidence in your own reasoning.

4. Acknowledge God In Everything (Verse 6a). Acknowledging God means inviting His authority into every decision.

5. God's Direction Is Conditional (Verse 6b). God never promised to direct independent people. He directs surrendered people.

It's Not God's Fault...

Praise the Lord!!!
