We don’t just go to church. We are the church.

Yesterday Pastor Nick continued our Life Blood series with week 5 of what makes us Hope Church. We looked at what Jesus meant when He said, “I will build my church.” The church is not a building. It is a called-out assembly of people who have been redeemed by Jesus and filled with His Spirit.

In the Old Testament, God’s presence was associated with the tabernacle and later the temple. But through Jesus, everything changed. He no longer makes a building holy to contain His presence. He makes a people holy to carry His presence. We have access to the Father through Christ, and His Spirit now dwells in those who belong to Him.

God did not put His Spirit in us so we could gather once a week for a song and a sermon. He calls us to be the church wherever we go, taking His presence into our homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and community.

And we still need one another. We are living stones being built together into something bigger than ourselves. When one stone is missing, there is a gap.

Jesus did not suggest it. He commanded it.

Go and make disciples. That charge was not just for pastors and ministry leaders. It was for every single person who calls themselves a follower of Jesus.

The faith was never designed to stop with you. It was designed to multiply.

God's plan was never just salvation. It was transformation.

You are being discipled by something right now.

Your feed. Your friendships. The content you consume. All of it is shaping you whether you realize it or not.

The question was never whether you would be discipled. The question is what kind of disciple you are becoming.

God's plan was never just to get you into heaven. It was to conform you to the image of His Son. That does not happen by accident.

Too many people are okay with standing before God one day looking nothing like His Son.

We have created a version of Christianity that is almost entirely about what we receive and almost nothing about what we become.

God’s plan was never just to get you into heaven. It was to conform you to the image of His Son. Not just salvation but transformation. Romans 8:29 makes it clear, you were predestined to be conformed to the likeness of Jesus. That is the goal.

One day we will all stand before God. The question worth asking today is what will He see when He looks at your life.

Discipleship is not optional. It is the whole point.
