What is the Way of Love?
Watch this short video with a message from Bishop Curry to get started

The Way of Love Practices for a Jesus-Centered Life The Way of Love is a way of life. More than a program or curriculum, it is an intentional commitment to a set of practices. It's a commitment to follow Jesus: Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, Rest An Invitation from Presiding Bishop Michael C...

As Augustine of Hippo reminded us, “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.” Our hearts are expecting to meet God. God has “placed eternity in their hearts” (Ecclesiastes 3:11, CEB). We are hardwired for expectation, and yet it can go so very wrong. Holy expectation can easily be distorted by fear, competition, privilege. Our expectations become demands or entitlements, well-justified reasons why we deserve more than others or, worse yet, are more worthy than our neighbor.

Compassion is not a feeling you have, it's a work you do, we cannot have compassion in a vacuum, compassion is something we do together. It literally means "suffer together". When we have compassion, we are finding the deepest level of human solidarity - in the understanding and realization that the suffering of Christ is the suffering of all of us, and we do not do it alone.

FacebookTweetPin December 11, 2021 by The Rt. Rev. Susan Brown Snook Brown Snook Compassion is costly. In a world of turmoil and pain, it is easy to feel pity for those who suffer. But compassion is different from pity. Pity is a feeling; compassion is an action. Compassion brought Jesus....

Our greatest calling is to love one another, as Christ loved us - to witness the splendor of God shining back at us from the faces of all those we meet along our path.

Where do you see messengers from God manifesting in your life? Sometimes we just need to slow down and pay attention to the people and things that present themselves to us on a daily basis in order to reconnect with the God who loves us and who invites us into participation with the life of Christ.

FacebookTweetPin December 8, 2021 by Ruthanna Hooke Advent is full of messengers.  The angel Gabriel announces the conception of Jesus.  John the Baptist is a “voice crying in the wilderness, ‘prepare the way of the Lord.’”  We need messengers to get us ready to receive Christ....

It's not always easy to see the ways our bodies and physical lives give praise to the everlasting God. How do you care for yourself and your physical, bodily home, and how do you help others to do the same?
