SUNDAY RECAP | When We Grow Up

Guest speaker Minister Dominique Sherman delivered a powerful message from Hebrews 11:24–25 challenging us to move beyond simply growing older and begin growing spiritually.

Three key lessons from the message:

1. Certain decisions come with growing up.
At some point, our relationship with God must become a personal decision.

2. When we grow up, we decide what we will be called.
We cannot allow the world, our past, or other people to define an identity that God never gave us.

3. The pleasure of sin is seasonal.
Maturity teaches us to look beyond temporary satisfaction and consider where our decisions will ultimately lead.

The reminder was clear: never sacrifice something permanent for something temporary.

WHO ARE WE? WHOSE ARE WE? WHY WERE WE CHOSEN? | Sunday Recap

Knowing what God has done for you is important—but this message pushes us deeper.

The real question is not only “Who am I?” but “Whose am I?”

In this Sunday Recap, we discover what it means to be a people who truly belong to God. Holiness is more than outward behavior. It begins with belonging. When you know who you belong to, the way you live begins to change.

God didn’t choose His people simply so they could feel special. He chose them because He intended to accomplish something through them. The blessing was never meant to stop with us—we are blessed so that we can “become a blessing.

Your gifts matter to somebody.
Your wisdom matters to somebody.
Your resources matter to somebody.
Your maturity matters to somebody.
Your faithfulness matters to somebody.

The question is no longer only, “What can God give me?”

The question becomes:

What has God placed in me and in my hands that is supposed to become a blessing to somebody else?

You are not just part of a crowd.

You are His people. You belong to God. And you were chosen for purpose.

📖Deuteronomy 7:6–9

God did not merely save individuals. He saved “a people”.

A people who know who they are, know Whose they are, and learn how to live because they belong to Him.

Deuteronomy 7:6–9 gives us the pattern:

“Thou art an holy people.”
“The LORD thy God hath chosen thee.”
“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God.”

It calls for more than church attendance. It is necessitates belonging. It is provokes spiritual maturing. It is Covenant with God as a way of life.

We ended in repentance. And we pray it has the same effect on you our listening audience.

**SUNDAY RECAP 🙌🏾 | THE POWER OF PRAISE**

What do you do when the situation hasn't changed yet?

**You praise God in the middle of it.**

In this Sunday Recap, we see the power of praise through Judah going into battle and Paul and Silas worshiping God from inside a prison. They didn't wait until the victory came to praise—they praised while the odds were still stacked against them.

🔥 Sometimes you have to command yourself to bless the Lord.
🔥 Prayer coupled with praise can shift a situation.
🔥 You and God make up the majority.
🔥 Praise God for the breakthrough while you're still in the middle of it.
🔥 Your circumstances do not have authority over your life.

Paul and Silas were still hurting. They were still imprisoned. But at midnight they prayed, sang praises unto God—and suddenly there was a shaking.

**Praise doesn't mean you don't feel the pressure. Praise declares that the pressure doesn't determine who God is.**

When you remember His benefits, His faithfulness and what He's already done, you've got a reason to open your mouth.
