Here are some questions you can ask yourself to discover what you believe which is also referred to as your worldview. This will help you understand how you're trying to fill the "infinite abyss" in your heart that only God can fill.
What is ultimately real? Is reality fundamentally physical, spiritual, both, or something else? Is there a God? If so, what is God like?
What is a human being? Are we purely biological organisms, spiritual beings, creatures made by God, or something else?
Why are we here? Does human life have an objective purpose, or do we create our own purpose?
What is wrong with the world? Ignorance? Selfishness? Sin? Broken social structures? Meaninglessness? Something else?
What would make things right? Education, moral improvement, technological progress, political change, forgiveness, redemption, God?
What happens when we die? Do we cease to exist, continue consciously, face judgment, experience reincarnation, or simply not know?
What makes something morally right or wrong? God, human flourishing, consequences, individual choice, social agreement, objective moral truths?
How can we know what is true? Reason? Science? Experience? Revelation? Scripture? Tradition? Some combination?
