100 Years of God’s Faithfulness | The Story of Twiggs Chapel

Did you know the building we know today as the Chapel was once called Twiggs Chapel and served as Trinity on the Hill’s very first sanctuary? If you're reading our 100 Days of Prayer devotional, you learned this on Day 1!

In 1934, Trinity was still a young church, but God was already laying foundations for generations to come. Under the leadership of Rev. Walter M. Twiggs, Trinity’s fourth pastor (1933–1935), construction began on the church’s first permanent building.

During the difficult years of the Great Depression, Rev. Twiggs worked tirelessly to make it happen. He helped oversee construction, raise funds, meet payrolls and even build the chapel’s pews alongside members of the congregation.

The 2,215-square-foot building held its first worship service on February 10, 1935 and became a place where generations gathered to worship, learn and grow in faith. Trinity worshiped in Twiggs Chapel until the new sanctuary was built in 1954.

Today, as we celebrate 100 years of God’s faithfulness, Twiggs Chapel reminds us that God can use small beginnings, faithful people and bold vision to build something that lasts.

Our 100-Year Anniversary Celebration will be held on Sunday, October 18 from 4-6pm.

A New Welcome to Wesley Hall! ✨

What a transformation! What was once an empty, impractical display case, left behind after the Tree of Life was moved to the Gathering Area, has been transformed into a welcoming and functional Welcome Center.

By utilizing the closet space behind the wall, we’ve created a dedicated area for check-in, information, and hospitality. We’re excited about how this new space will help streamline check-in for events, make information easier to find, and create a warm welcome for everyone who walks through our doors.

A special shout-out to the masterminds behind the transformation! 👏 Your creativity, hard work, and attention to detail made this new space possible.
