This week I was asked what is the sinners prayer.
I had to think on that one.
Is the sinners prayer something recited at an altar call at the end of a church service or a get out of jail free card.
The sinners prayer is something an individual prayers to God with remorse, a repentanat heart and a personal acknowledgment the person is a sinner in need of a Savior.
Example of this Jesus teaches us about the Prodigal son. This guy took an early withdrawal of his inheritance and squandered it on worldly living and a life of selfishness to the point it was all gone and he found himself in the pig pen eating the slop he was feeding his bosses pigs.
Sinful living is living life of selfishness away from Jesus and disobedience and rebellion against God and His commands and ways.
The Bible teaches the man came to his senses and went back home.
Said to his father, “I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, I am no longer worthy to be called your son.” The man acknowledged he was a sinner in need of a Savior.
The sinner prayer is not a recited bunch of words.
The sinner’s prayer is when a person an inddividual that has lived life on their own terms, rebelled and disobeyed the Lord and one day the person knows they are a mess, they are a sinner in need of a Savior.
The Prodigals father did not rebuke him but gave him new clothes, new shoes and a ring on his finger and cooked the fatted calf for the Bible records the father saying about his son that came home, “ My son was dead and is alive again, he was lost but is found.”
The sinners prayer comes from a broken heart and God is the only one that can fix it.
Father God has made Salvation very easy, for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, who ever believes in Him with have everlasting peace. The word believe means to entrust in Jesus.
All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
This morning if you feel you’re the prodigal in the Gospel of Luke, God is standing on the hillside with arms open wide and with hugs awaiting, new clothes, a signat ring and a big welcome home. Don’t wait until all you have left is pig slop- come home to Jesus, come home and ask God for forgiveness and a spot back at His table.
We are are a sinner in need of a Savior and that Savior is Jesus.
Allow Holy Spirit to give us the sinner our own personal prayer to God that will set us free and connect us once again with our Lord and Savior Jesus.

Jesus amazes me.
I look back over my thirty plus year walk with Jesus.
God Himself plucked certain people out of my life and replaced them with people I needed to help fine tune and strengthen with my mental and spiritual walk with Jesus.
God is amazing.
This past three and half years the Lord has statically placed men of great faith and personal years and years of walking with God through thick and thin and now I get to call them friends and they pour their experience and hope that is in Jesus into me.
Wow, is all I can say.
If God does this for me, He can do it for you.
Jesus loves you so much that He will hand pick your friends and those mentor like people you need to grow closer and stronger in Jesus.
I had to allow God to do His hand picking. It was difficult at first, child hood friends I loved and cared for began to slip away. I fought the Lord for a while, but then I woke up and realized the people God began to place in my life had a real life relationship with Jesus, I wanted what they had.
I love my childhood friends but these men that God has placed in my personal since I have been in Augusta is by His choosing and I aoaking up the benefits of their personal walk with Jesus.
If your struggling with life, addictions what ever allow God to begin to hand pick the right people to be His mouth piece, hope and strength in your life.
I am the man today because I serve and submitted my life to the One that not only changed my behavior, Jesus changed my character. Gave me new life- born again experience.
If He can do it for me, He can do it for you as well.
Goliath had his own personal shield bearer. The Bible speaks of our faith is a shield. Goliath may have placed to much faith in his sheild bearer. Be cautious whose faith you follow. Goliath was taken out by a stone, where was his sheild bearer- faith?
Submit and and surrender your all to Jesus, keep pressing in and allow Jesus to rearrange friendships and years down the road you will look back at the amazing journey Jesus has taken you on.
Thank you Jesus for the few great men and woman of God that You personally placed in my wife and my life just in 3 years.
We are better for it.
Amazing God I serve.
Thank You Jesus.

This world does not need Jesus is a theme I am beginning to hear. I agree this world does not need Jesus to be the quick fix like a drug addict needs another quick fix.
This world does not need Jesus to pitty and shower this world with blessings out of pitty and not nessessity and honor.
This world does not need Jesus being soft on sin and rebellion because this world is full of humans.
This world does not need Jesus to stand by the road as people walk themselves to hell when their hand baskets are full.
Yes I agree with those who say this world does not need Jesus.
But I have to say this world does need Jesus for mercy and compassion only an amazing loving forgiving God has for His creation.
This world needs Jesus to break every addiction know to man, drugs, alcohol, emotional, mental, spiritual addictions.
This world needs Jesus for leadership, guidance and strength for boldness and perseverance.
Most of all this world needs a Savior full of mercy and restoration and His name is Jesus.
So I agree with those who say this world does not Jesus to pitty and stand out of the way as we walk to hell on our own.
However this world needs Jesus to stand in our way and lead us in God’s direction to heaven and eternal rewards with Father God.
The world without Jesus is just that a world without Jesus. But a world with Jesus is life changing and salvation granting- peace and joy like never before.
Something to think about, live life without Jesus and be left to your demise or live life with Jesus and in the end hear well done good and faithful servant enter in.
With or without Jesus is a choice the individual needs to make.
We all need to count the cost before answering with or without.
Something to think about as the days are getting darker and gloomier. Without without Jesus choose wisely.

Thinking this morning life has struggles each and every day.
Each one of us has struggles that others may never know.
Struggles could be financial, health of the body or mind.
Some struggles are light and others are overwhelming, struggles of life come and go.
But I want to tell those who are reading, Jesus wants to walk thorough those struggles with each of us individually.
Too many people are looking for a quick life fix. Many seek Jesus like a drug addict looking for their next fix. Just fix this one thing Jesus and life will be okay.
My friend some of the struggles you are facing did not come over night but through poor choices on our part over a course of time. Some times those struggles take time to be worked out even with Jesus leading us through.
The Children of Israel had to walk to the promise land being led by God.
The Bible never teaches life with out struggles but it does bring Hope through our personal walk with Jesus.
The Lord wants to walk with us and equip us through faith to be able to walk through each struggle of life with the assurance Jesus is with us and will never abandon us.
Some struggles are good for you and I and our faith in God.
If life was easy street we would need nothing to do with Jesus.
Struggles and storms of life suck, but those who have learned from Jesus to dance in the rain will experience signs wonders and miracles and amazing blessings through out their lives.
Our struggles come and go, but Jesus never changes.
I know first hand my life would have been totally different and not for the better without Jesus leading me over 30 years of my life. I can honestly say looking back is was my faith in Jesus that gave me hope and strength to make it through and thrive through each and every struggle.
You too can have the same faith and hope just cry out to Jesus. The Bible teaches in Roman’s- those who cry out to the Lord will be saved.
What are you waiting for, cry out to the Lord and let Him save you!

If you have been impacted in a positive way from anyone let them know now.
If you care about someone don’t stay mad or hold a grudge. Forgive them and hug their neck.
Life is so short.
I remember taking offf with my fishing pole in hand at the age of 7 walking the brook and river fishing. A blink later and I am 54 years old.
All my children are grown and on their own with one grand baby.
The Bible teaches time doe not wait for no one. Our tomorrows are not guaranteed.
Tell those who you do life with how much you appreciate them and how they have impacted your life. Hug a neck, kiss a forehead.
I am not going through a mid life crises.
But I have conducted enough funerals to know many regrets from loved one and friends that wished they had a do over and tell the deceased how much they cared about them.
Tell the living how you feel.
The Bible is clear, this is the day that the Lord has made. Tomorrow is not here yet and yesterday is gone. Today is the day to seize and make things right and forgive with those we hold a grudge towards and call someone this morning or tell a coworker thank you for being a friend- tell them how much you appreciate them.
Today is the day, you may not have tomorrow to say what should have been said today.

Reading John chapter 8.
The first 11 verses of chapter 8 deals with the Religious leaders of the day catching a woman in the act of adultery and they used this poor woman to try to make Jesus look bad to the crowd Jesus was teaching.
Jesus bent down and listened to the Relious leaders and when they had finished accusing the woman. Jesus simply said let he who has no sin cast the first stone.
One by one the accusers drop their stones and walked away.
Hear me this morning there is not one person alive today that is perfect or without sin. The born again person has had their sins forgiven, before that they too were sinners.
But the common denominator of all people alive today, we all have a soul that Jesus loves.
You and I have not been called to judge but to be a light. The remaining of chapter 8 of John, Jesus speaks about being a light to the world and His truth sets us free from sin and the grave!
I am not saying we need to allow sin to run ramped or agree with the sinner.
I am saying we need to look past the sin and be a light to the person. Jesus using you and I to illluminate a new path for the sinner. A path that leads to Jesus and the forgiveness of sin, a path full of Jesus Truth and Love that will cause the sinner to repent and Jesus desires to forgive us all for our sins. But we need to go to Jesus in the right way. The born again believer needs to have good intentions with those around them.
Never pray a curse on anyone.
Jesus is the righteous Judge not you or I.
If the religious leaders of the day cared about the letter Law - where was the man. For the woman caught in the act of adultery tossed at Jesus feet , where was the man absent?
Jesus knows our intentions no matter what circumstance or time of day.
Let’s leave Judgment to Jesus and let’s be a bright light to the people around us as Jesus called us all to be.
Lets focus on leading people to Jesus with the right thoughts and intentions. Our goal should be to only bring the person in the light of Christ and when that happens, lives will change and their sins will be forgiven and repentance following.
Jesus the righteous Judge, the Child of God is only a flash light in the hands of Jesus. We are charged to leading others down the path of righteousness of Christ.
Let’s shine bright for the Lord. People’s eternal life may depend on if we are Jesus lighted path or a worldly judge with gavel in hand.

Someone needs to hear this this morning.
Keep walking no matter what your life looks like, feels like or is like.
Life may look bad and maybe life looks like it’s ending but hear me, Jesus is walking through this life and your mess with you. Stop looking behind and look ahead towards Christ.
The Bible speaks of a woman that gave all she had to the doctors of the day to be healed by man. Then one day she heard Jesus was coming to her hometown and she knew if only I could touch Him, she would be healed.
The day came and Jesus was there surround by a large crowd pressing on Him.
The woman pushed her way through the crowd and did not stop until she touch the hem of His clothing. She received her healing through perseverance and faith in the only One that could healer her of her sickness.
Jesus knew someone touched Him and it was by her faith in Jesus that cured her of her sickness.
This morning I am saying to someone are you willing to press through the crowd the noise of life? Don’t listen to those who say this is the end and you may as well die or give up.
That woman in the Bible used all the strength she had pressing in and pushing through the crowd. Jesus will be found by those who diligently seek Him!
She was on her knees at the end pressing through until she could touch Jesus!
Do not give up my friend- keep pushing and seeking Jesus.
Psalm 23 of the Bible says Yea though I WALK through the valley of the shadow of death… It does not read yea though I camp in the valley or buy property in the valley the Bible teaches us to keep walking through the valley of death in faith and without fear!
If you decide to sit and entertain your plight nothing good will come from that, you are allowing the crap in life to laugh at you, rule you and control you.
Get up and begin to walk towards Jesus, cry out to Him to save you and restore you.
The Bible also teaches those who cry out to Jesus shall be saved!
Be encouraged draw close to God and He will draw close to you.
Do not give up, do not throw in the towel but keep pressing into, pushing through and placing your life and all the situations in life to Jesus!
Jesus has the answer for all life’s issues, but He is not camping out in the valley of pitty with you.
Hear this morning, get up and take Jesus by the hand and He will lead and guide you and give you the strength to walk through the valley you find yourself in this morning.
Cry out to Jesus what else do you have to lose?
You have done all you can and still you end up in the middle of the hurricane of life.
Jesus wants to calm the storm and restore your health and being, if you are willing to walk with Him.
Something to consider this morning. Do you want to stay in the pig pen of life or do you want Jesus to restore your soul and life.
The choose is yours choose wisely this morning.

This morning I am thinking intentional.
We need to be intentional with our walk with Jesus. A relationship with Jesus is 7 days a week 24 hours a day for the entire year.
So many have a Sunday morning fling or spend sometime with Jesus during the holidays.
If people would be intentional with their personal life walk with Jesus, maybe when life throws a curve ball we would not get depressed, doubt and blame God for not living us. Instead we would lift up Jesus name over the cirxumstances and see God’s miracles becomes life’s realities.
Christianity is not just a title people wear as a badge.
Christianity is a life style and attitude of the mind and soul that is centered on Jesus, intentionally walking life with Jesus leading the way.
An intentional Christian life is knowing no matter what Jesus is in control.
People fear the word cancer more than trusting in Jesus the healer and redeemer of our soul.
Today I know God is saying to us all to be intentional with our daily walk with Him and when we are intentionally building a personal relationship with Jesus we begin to understand He values us so far above the value we place in ourselves. He is so trustworthy and His love for us has no end. This can only be learned and experienced from intentionally seeking Jesus.
Jesus is intentional with all He does.
Father God was intentional when He sent Jesus to redeem and set us free. God was intentional when He formed us in our mother’s womb, we are not accidents but valued and God’s purpose and affections are deep within us.
Being intentional means doing things with a meaningful purpose for a meaning full end.
Christianity is not for the faint of heart but for those who are willing to bring the Hope and Light of Jesus to a lost and dying world.
How about it? Awe going to be intentional with Jesus today or are we going to complain and stay afraid of the world and what it says?
I chose to be intentional and personal with Jesus today and for the rest of my life. To share His hope and light to a lost and fearful world!
I for one will be intentional with and for Jesus!

This morning I have been thinking and pondering on the scripture, today is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.
Why do we fuss about yesterday, we can’t change one thing about yesterday.
Why do we plan so far ahead in the future? We have no clue what tomorrow will bring.
We can learn from our past and prepare for tomorrow but we are here right now in the present time, why don’t we enjoy today?
I have lived in the regrets of the past and I had huge plans for the future that never came to pass. Yet I have not give enough attention to today, right here right now.
This morning let’s take a breath and enjoy right now. Enjoy the Lord and His provision right at this moment.
Enjoy those you love, enjoy those you work with, enjoy your family, pets and most of all enjoy Jesus and His love for you.
Today is the day in which we all live in, tomorrow will come soon enough.
Let’s just allow the Spirit of God to refresh us and open our eyes to the beauty and goodness of today.
Because tomorrow may not be what you expected or planned so diligently for days, months or even years in the planning.
Father God, thank You for today, thank You for Your breath of life. Thank You for the birds in the sky, thank You for Your grace, mercy and love.
Thank You Lord for Jesus and His amazing sacrifice for my salvation, redemption and justification.
Holy Spirit, teach me to enjoy today, teach me not to take today for granted and teach me how to learn from the past without reliving the past.
Holy Spirit help me see the beauty and majesty and how amazing a Painter and Sculptor our Father God is!
Teach me to be grateful and humble that today is the day the Lord has made. Teach me to enjoy and rejoice for today and in today.
Father thank You for today, it’s going to be amazing! For today is the day that You have made and I will rejoice and be glad in it!
In Jesus name, Amen!
Have a wonderful, mindful and enjoyable day.
God created this day especially for us all to enjoy.

What an amazing day in the house of the Lord.
Great fellowship and a great afternoon of men witnessing of the goodness of God in their lives.
I can say without doubt after hearing what God has done in these men’s personal lives, He is not dead but very much alive!
Praise the Lord!
