Maine Cemetery Volunteers - MCV Maine Cemetery Volunteers (MCV) is dedicated to the historical preservation of our state-wide cemeteries. MCV doesn't stop there.

MCV is a group of “Mainers” dedicated to the historical preservation of our state-wide cemeteries. Re-discovering Maine's rich heritage dating back from early colonial days to the present, our volunteers march through the cemeteries methodically repairing broken headstones and protectively cleaning the monuments using state-of-the-art Eco-friendly techniques, and grooming the grounds. mbling upon a derelict cemetery finding long-abandoned colonial stones or Civil War markers. Thanks to our volunteers, these sites are being resurrected and cared for ensuring future generations places to meditate on our ancestral legacy. MCV seeks to bring our ancestral history to life by researching the accomplishments and genealogy of many of those buried but not forgotten. We believe the history of any town is written in the stones of its graveyards. Unless we preserve them, we all lose that tangible link to our past.
