Pastor Angel Maestre has been actively serving the Lord since he was a child. He was born in Colombia, South America. In 1981, he began playing the drums in his church and singing for crusades, revivals, concert
s and conferences in many cities in Colombia. Many people received the Lord who were inspired by his singing and praising. In 1989, He was invited to a conference in Puerto Rico to sing and preach which led to another invitation to share the gospel of Jesus in Miami, Florida. In 1990, he moved from Miami to New York, and became a member of the Hispanic Church La Sinagoga where he had the opportunity to attend classes at the Latin-American Bible Institute. It was in this church where Pastor Angel Maestre met his wife, his Pastor’s daughter; the lovely Merari Ruperto. They were married in 1997 and a year later, his wife (Merari Ruperto) joined the ARMY. Once in the Army, she was deployed to South Korea for one year. And in 2000 received orders to Ft. It was in that same year, without knowing God’s plan for them, they became members of the first Hispanic church in Augusta, Georgia named Oasis de Bendicion. Four years later in 2004; with his wife’s full support, Pastor Maestre became the Senior Pastor of Oasis de Bendicion. Together they have been helping the community spiritual, economical and socially. Pastor Maestre is a graphic designer, entrepreneur and well recognized Latinos Leader in our area. Right now he is working very hard to put on the airwaves of our city, the first full christian-spanish radio station 97.3FM WMFJ Oasis to preaching The Gospel and also to help and consolidating the Hispanic Community in Augusta. Pastor Angel Maestre and his wife have the honor to be pastoring the biggest Hispanic church in Augusta with members from south, Central America and the Caribbean. Services are fully bilingual with multicultural flavor where everyone feels at home.
