College for Kids is officially underway! 🎉

Today marks the start of an incredible summer of learning, growth, and fun for our students. We are so grateful for the many partners, supporters, volunteers, churches, businesses, and donors whose generosity, encouragement, and prayers make College for Kids possible year after year.

As we kick off Day 1, we invite you to join us in praying for our students and staff. Pray that our students would feel loved, encouraged, and excited to learn, and that our staff would have wisdom, energy, and patience as they invest in the next generation.

This week, our summer staff officially kicked off training as we prepare to welcome students on Monday! ☀️📚

Yesterday, our entire team gathered together for a powerful training on trauma-informed care led by a special guest. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn how to better care for, support, and serve our students with empathy, understanding, and intentionality.

Today, our staff split into their respective program teams to prepare classrooms, activities, schedules, and spaces to make sure everything is ready for an incredible summer ahead.

We can’t wait to welcome our students on Monday for another summer of learning, growth, fun, and community at Oaks Ministries! 🌳

Today, our high school interns kicked off summer training as we prepare for College for Kids!

Over the next month, these students will serve across our camps by helping lead activities, build relationships with younger students, serve meals, assist teachers, and create a safe and encouraging environment each day.

We are proud of these students and excited to watch them continue to grow into leaders who serve their community well. Please be praying for them as they step into this important role this summer! 🌱☀️

Last night we got to slow down, laugh together, eat good food, and celebrate some of the incredible volunteers and staff who make Oaks Ministries what it is.

We gathered at for a pottery painting night, and it was such a sweet reminder of the community God has built through this ministry. From mentors and tutors to interns, our team faithfully shows up week after week to love and empower our students.

You can help confidence grow for more students this summer.

This year, Oaks Ministries is expanding its summertime College for Kids from four weeks to five! That means more time for students to keep building the skills they worked so hard to cultivate during the school year. 🌿

Mornings focus on Bible, Math, and Language Arts. Afternoons include enrichment activities like art, STEM, music, and sports. 📖🎨

It’s more than a program; it’s a continued investment in learning, growth, and Christ-centered support.

Want to help a student keep growing this summer?

Pictured here is Carter, who didn’t recognize letters or their sounds when he first started working with a tutor. Just a few months later, he could identify 22 letters and sounds. Today, he’s reading full sentences! Even more meaningfully, he’s proud of himself.

This is the kind of confidence our students work hard to cultivate during the school year. And without continued support, it is difficult to sustain over the summer. At Oaks, we want that growth to stay rooted.🌳
