We had an amazing time during our Power Hour of Worship with the residents at Harborview Nursing Home. Hearing their testimonies, watching them sing from the depths of their hearts, and joining in as some of them lead us in songs of worship was truly unforgettable.

We are grateful that we had the opportunity to represent the love of Christ, encourage hearts, share smiles, and worship together. Moments like these remind us why God has called us to connect with those who may be overlooked, forgotten, or unable to come to us. His love is meant to be carried beyond the four walls of the church and shared wherever people are. Today, we had the privilege of doing just that.

Thank you, Harborview, for welcoming us with such warmth. We left with full hearts, and we can't wait to worship with you again.

You’re at your BEST when you’re being YOURSELF!

One of my favorite stories in the Bible is about David. Before he turned king and while he was still a shepherd.

When he was going to fight the giant Goliath, King Saul tried to fit David with armour and weapons that Saul was used to using for battle.

Out of respect, David tried to navigate them, but that garb proved to be too big, too clunky and uncomfortable. So, David respectfully shed those war clothes and weaponry, replacing it with the sling shot and rocks he was used to using to protect his sheep from predators.

David used what was comfortable, familiar and best for him to fight his toughest battle. Simply stated, David was at his BEST when he was being HIMSELF!

And that’s the lesson I want to leave with you today. I know how tempting it is to play the comparison game with your life, and there’s nothing wrong with being inspired by someone else’s journey.

But I’m telling you today that you are at your BEST when you are okay with simply being exactly who YOU are.

When you’re facing your toughest battles, you’ll do yourself a disservice trying to be like someone else.

I’ve said it before and will say it again — the world needs no more carbon copies! We need you to be exactly who you are!

There’s unmatched power in being YOURSELF!
