There is room for every generation to take part in worship at Reid Memorial.
Each Sunday, our young acolytes help lead us into worship by bringing the light of Christ into the sanctuary. It’s a small but meaningful act, reminding us that children are not simply the future of the church. They are part of its life and worship today.

Why all the plaid?

At the Kirkin of the Tartan, colorful tartans represent Scottish clans and families and point us toward the Scottish roots of the Presbyterian tradition.

But the day is about more than looking backward. We remember the generations who carried the faith before us as we consider how we will carry it forward.

If you’ve heard us talking about the Kirkin of the Tartan and quietly wondered, “What exactly is a Kirkin?” you’re not alone.

The Kirkin is a celebration of our Scottish Presbyterian heritage, marked by tartans, beautiful music, and the blessing of the tartans during worship. It is one of Reid Memorial’s beloved traditions, and you don’t need to know a thing about Scottish history to be part of it.
