The Friends of the Summerville Cemetery is a dedicated volunteer group that was formed to assist with the maintenance and improvement of the cemetery grounds for our loved ones and our community. We recognize that there is an enormous amount of work to be completed, in order to restore the grounds. This is why we've already proactively partnered with the Summerville Cemetery Corporation and the Summerville City Council with a united and common goal to improve and enhance the property. Both parties have been very appreciative of our concern and assistance with the property. Being very transparent, the maintenance and labor costs are expensive and we can all agree that the price of everything continues to increase. So, what do we do? We volunteer as a group to pick up trash and limbs, trim the vines from the fence and remove the overgrown shrubbery that has overtaken family burial markers, to name a few. We join forces and will work together in a cooperative effort to help our community.
