If I were going to have 'rules' for my family in a church, I think these would be good starting point. I might modify #1 to say, "is a take action moment." Because sometimes folk want to sit quietly, and that is OK, but approaching them and letting them know you are here and available can do a world of good to making folk feel welcome in our family.

We are ready for more laughter, another plate at the dinner table, and a whole lot of German slang in our house! We are SO excited to announce that we'll be hosting a foreign exchange student from Germany this school year!

We've hosted before and the experience is always incredible—we share our world, and in return, our world gets so much bigger. The connections we've made are truly priceless.

Have you ever been curious about hosting? It's easier than you think, and families of all types are welcome (empty-nesters, single parents, families with young kids, no kids, etc!). If you have an open heart and a spare bedroom, you could change a student's life.
