Durante los últimos dos días leí Jeremías 30-33. Quería hablar sobre el capítulo 31. Encontré estos versículos:

Jeremías 31:31-34 (Reina Valera 1960)
[31] «He aquí, vienen días, dice Jehová, en que haré nuevo pacto con la casa de Israel y con la casa de Judá; [32] no como el pacto que hice con sus padres el día que los tomé de la mano para sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto; pacto que ellos quebrantaron, aunque yo era su esposo, dice Jehová; [33] sino que este será el pacto que haré con la casa de Israel: Después de aquellos días, dice Jehová, pondré mi ley en su interior, y la escribiré en sus corazones; y yo seré su Dios, y ellos serán mi pueblo.» [34] Y ya no enseñará más cada uno a su prójimo, ni cada uno a su hermano, diciendo: «Conoce al Señor». Porque todos me conocerán, desde el menor hasta el mayor de ellos, dice el Señor; porque perdonaré su iniquidad, y no me acordaré más de su pecado.

Jeremías fue quien profetizó acerca del Nuevo Pacto. El Nuevo Pacto no fue algo que la iglesia inventara. Fue idea de Dios. Él fue quien lo creó. En general, los líderes de Israel lo rechazaron. Parece que nunca estuvieron satisfechos con el plan de Dios.

Hoy parece que muy pocos siguen satisfechos con el plan de Dios. La mayoría sigue rebelándose contra él. Creo que deberíamos reflexionar mucho sobre esto.

My reading for the last two days was from Jeremiah 30-33. I wanted to speak about chapter 31. I found these verses.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 KJV
[31] Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: [32] not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: [33] but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. [34] And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Jeremiah was the one who prophesied about the New Covenant. The New Covenant was not something that the church made up. It was God's idea. He was the one who made it up. As a whole the leaders of Israel rejected it. It seems they were never satisfied with God's plan.
Today it seems that very few are still satisfied with God's plan. Most are still rebellious against God's plan. I believe that we should give that a lot of thought.

Mi lectura de hoy fue de Jeremías 26-29. Aquí comienza su persecución. Cuando uno empieza a decir cosas que la gente no quiere oír, muchos empiezan a llamarlo falso profeta.
Los falsos profetas de la época de Jeremías lo llamaron así, le dijeron a la gente que no le escuchara e incluso lo encarcelaron.
Decían que Dios iba a liberar a la gente del cautiverio.
Cuando Jeremías habló de setenta años de cautiverio, nadie quiso escuchar lo que tenía que decir. Hoy, si hablas de algo malo, nadie quiere oírte.
A la gente se le ha enseñado un evangelio de solo cosas buenas, y eso es todo lo que quieren oír.
Dios envía su lluvia sobre justos e injustos. Había gente buena en la época de Jeremías, pero Dios envió juicio de todos modos. Mira la maldad que te rodea. Tratemos de llegar a tantos como podamos y llevarlos al cielo.

My reading for today was from Jeremiah 26-29. This is where his persecution begins. When you begin telling people things that they don't want to hear many begin to call you a false prophet.
The false prophets of Jeremiah's day called him one and told people to not listen to him and even put him in jail.
They were saying that God was going to bring people out of captivity.
When Jeremiah talked about 70ty years of captivity no one wanted to hear what he had to say. Today if you speak of anything bad no one wants to hear what you have to say.
People have been taught a gospel of only good things and that's all they want to hear.
God sends His rain upon the just and the unjust. There were good people in Jeremiah's day. But God sent judgement anyway. Look at the wickedness around you. Let's try to reach as many as we can and get them to heaven.

Mi lectura de hoy fue de Isaías 58-62. La mayoría sabe que Jesús citó parte del capítulo 61. Quería hablar sobre este versículo.

Isaías 61:3 (RV60)
[3] para consolar a los que lloran en Sion, para darles belleza en lugar de cenizas, óleo de gozo en lugar de luto, manto de alabanza en lugar de espíritu abatido; para que sean llamados árboles de justicia, plantío del Señor, para que él sea glorificado.

Esta es una promesa en la que debemos confiar. Son cosas que Dios hará por nosotros si tan solo se las pedimos. Pensé en hablar sobre la palabra «abatimiento».

La palabra original para «abatimiento» generalmente significa débil, desfallecido, débil. Se usa para referirse a una lámpara que se apaga (Isaías 42:3) y a los ojos que se nublan (1 Samuel 3:2). Aquí se refiere a alguien que está deprimido y débil.
La idea de una lámpara que se apaga, creo, habla del fuego de Dios que reside en nuestro interior. Jesús dijo que no apagaría una mecha humeante. Simplemente pídele que derrame su aceite sobre ti.

My reading for today was from Isaiah 58-62. Most know that Jesus quoted part of chapter 61. I wanted to speak about this verse.

Isaiah 61:3 KJV
[3] to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

This is a promise that we should stand upon. These are things that God will do for us if we will only ask. I thought I would speak about the word heaviness.
The original word for heaviness usually means faint, feeble, weak. It is used of a lamp going out (Isa. 42:3) and eyes becoming dim (1Sam. 3:2). Here it refers to one who is depressed and faint.
The idea of a lamp going out I believe speaks of that fire of God within us. Jesus said that He would not quench a smoldering wick. Just ask Him to pour out His oil upon you.

Durante los últimos tres días, mi lectura se centró en Isaías 40-45. Quería comentar algo sobre esta sección. En el capítulo 40, Isaías da un giro: pasa del juicio a la salvación. Hasta ese momento, Dios había hablado del juicio sobre Israel. En el capítulo 40, comienza a hablar de redención. Hay un cambio abrupto.

Podríamos decir que comienza con Ciro. En el capítulo 45, habla de entregarle a Ciro los tesoros de las tinieblas. Esto comienza con Babilonia y sus riquezas. La historia dice que conquistó 14 naciones. Creía que Dios se las había dado.

Por supuesto, dio el decreto para reconstruir el templo y otros reyes se unieron a él. Querían que se elevaran oraciones por ellos. Debemos orar por nuestros políticos, sin importar su partido. Dios sabe cómo influir en ellos.

My reading for the last three days was from Isaiah 40-45. I wanted to say something about this section. Chapter 40 is where Isaiah changes. It shifts from judgement to salvation. God had spoken about judgement upon Israel up to this point. In chapter 40 He begins to speak about redemption. There is an abrupt change.
You might say that He begins with Cyrus. In chapter 45 He speaks of giving Cyrus the treasures of darkness. This begins with Babylon and their riches. History says that he conquered 14 nations. He believed that God gave them to him.
Of course he gave the decree to rebuild the temple and other kings joined him. They wanted the prayers going up for them. We should pray for our politicians regardless of party. God knows how to influence them.

Durante los últimos dos días, mi lectura se centró en Isaías 21-27. Quería hablar sobre el capítulo 22. Creo que la mayoría conoce el versículo 22, donde se entrega la llave de la casa de David, que es un paralelismo con las llaves del reino.
También quería hablar sobre el versículo 23, que habla de un clavo en la pared. En aquella época, las paredes eran de piedra, y no se podía clavar un clavo en ellas. Usaban clavijas. Construían las paredes alrededor de las clavijas, que servían para exhibir objetos especiales. De hecho, el versículo 24 habla de colgar cosas en ellas.

Creo que Dios quiere transformarnos a todos en clavijas. Lo interesante es que ninguno de nosotros es perfecto y tenemos que pasar por un proceso de formación para convertirnos en lo que Dios quiere que seamos. A veces, este proceso parece un poco tosco.
