Reading the Bible

Reading the Bible We are the Pastors at Harvest Time Ministries we want you to know that we would love for to read the Word of God. You can start today just follow my post.

Reading the word is the most important thing you can do in your life except for pray.

06/15/2026

My reading for today was from Psalms 70-72. I wanted to point out something in Psalm 71. I found this verse.

Psalm 71:3 KJV
[3] Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: Thou hast given commandment to save me; For thou art my rock and my fortress.

I wanted to point out the part about God being his rock. I believe that most people think of Jesus as being our rock. In Bible days when someone wanted to build something they would dig down to find a rock. They knew that whatever they built would be rock solid.
Jesus is supposed to be our foundation. He is our rock that we build on. He is where we can put our trust. He is the word. We need to study the word. It is the place we should build our lives.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Psalms 73-77.

My reading for today was from Psalms 67-69. I wanted to speak about Psalm 69. This is another Psalm of imprecation. So many of these verses can be seen as fulfilled in Jesus. We can also call this a messianic Psalm. I wanted to make it clear that not every verse in a messianic Psalm pertains to Jesus. We can see this in verse five.

Psalm 69:5 KJV
[5] O God, thou knowest my foolishness; And my sins are not hid from thee.

Jesus knew no sin. We must conclude that this verse doesn't pertain to Him.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Psalms 70-72.

My reading for today was from Psalms 55-59. I wanted to speak about Psalm 58. This is the Psalm I spoke of a few days ago. It is another Psalm of imprecation. The language of this Psalm is very strong there are only two that may be stronger.
Verse ten talks about washing their feet in blood. This is most likely speaking of the battle of Armageddon, where the blood will flow to the horse's bridle.
There are many verses that are prophetic all through the Bible. I believe that this is prophetic. That would make this a curse upon those that come against Israel at the battle of Armageddon.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Psalms 60-66.

My reading for today was from Psalms 37-41. I thought I might speak about Psalm 41. I spoke yesterday about the law of double reference. We find this in this Psalm also. This is another Psalm of Messianic reference.
In verse 9 we find this reference about Judas.

Psalm 41:9 KJV
[9] Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

This had a double reference to Ahithophel who turned against David. It was considered extremely base among Eastern nations for one to do an evil deed against those who gave him hospitality. Both men killed themselves.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Psalms 42-45.

My reading for today was from Psalms 34-36. If I find time I may speak about two different Psalms, but first I wanted to speak about Psalm 35.
This is called a Psalm of imprecation, which means to invoke a curse. I believe that there are curses in the Bible. David cursed his enemies. Some of these curses were pronounced on those who had something to do with crucifying Jesus.
There are six of these in the book of Psalms. This is the first. The others are 58, 69, 83, 109, and 129. I may speak of some of them. This one was pronounced upon David's enemies and those who crucified Jesus.
I don't believe that I will curse anyone but I have pronounced some of these curses upon demons. There is something called the law of double reference. Jesus used it when He rebuked satan through Peter. I have no problem with cursing demons but even Michael the ark angel would not use one against Satan.
I'm sure Jesus knew that these curses had already been pronounced on those who crucified Him. Please pray before you use one.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Psalms 37-41.

My reading for today was from Psalms 25-30. I wanted to speak about Psalm 25. This is what is called an acrostic. It is a form of poetry. Very many of the Psalms are poetic.
In this form each line begins with a letter in alphabetical order. There are nine such Psalms, Psalm 119 probably being the best known.
Of course it is not visible in English. But if you could read Hebrew you might recognize it. There are acrostic poems in many languages but if you aren't a poetry lover you may not know of them.
Hebrew is a very poetic language. We just don't see it not knowing the language. I hope that you aren't too bored but I felt that this was something that might help us to understand the Psalms.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Psalms 31-33.

My reading for today was from Psalms 19-24. I believe almost everyone knows Psalm 23 but I wanted to speak about Psalm 24. I found these verses.

Psalm 24:3-4 KJV
[3] Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place? [4] He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; Who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

This is a very profound question. I believe that there is only one way to answer it. Of course verse four is the right answer but who meets that standard?
The only way we can meet that standard is by the blood of Christ. When we become His hands our hands are clean. Only He can give us a pure heart.
Be sure that you have called upon Him.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Psalms 25-30.

My reading for today was from Psalms 1-6. I personally enjoy the book of Psalms. I would like to speak about the third Psalm.
From my studies I believe that this Psalm was written when David fled from Absalom. In verse two it was said that people believe no one could help him but we can see that in verse three that he knows put his trust in the Lord and in verse four we see that he was able to relax and go to sleep.
We need to have so much faith in God that we can trust him the same way. He will give us sleep in our times of trouble. Let's put our trust in God even if no one else does.
He is not a respecter of persons. We can expect God to do the same for us that He does for anyone else.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Psalms 7-12.

My reading for the last two days was from Job 38-43. This is the end of the book of course. This is where Job has God speak.
Job had said that he would one day see God. He probably expected it to be after he had died. I guess God surprised him.
God still appears to people today. I hope that no one has to go through what Job went through before they see him.
God blessed Job after his trial. Twice as much. I believe that God still blesses people today. He still wants to bless you.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Psalm 1-6.

My reading for today was from Job 32-34. I found these verses.

Job 33:14-15 KJV
[14] For God speaketh once, Yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. [15] In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men, In slumberings upon the bed;

I hope that you don't just read past this and not catch it. Many times people have dreams and just write them off to something they ate. Any excuse to not pay attention to the structure of the dream. You can find the meaning of certain things on the Internet. Most times it is worth the effort.
There are many people on the web who interpret dreams. My wife is a dreamer. Has had thousands of dreams and has studied them. I won't try to tell them in this setting, I would probably get parts wrong and I know she wouldn't like that. There was a man named John Paul Jackson who had a gift from God to interpret dreams. Made many studies that you can probably find on the Internet.
Don't overlook your dreams. They really are important.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Job 35-37.
