My reading for the last two days was from Jeremiah 30-33. I wanted to speak about chapter 31. I found these verses.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 KJV
[31] Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: [32] not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: [33] but this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. [34] And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Jeremiah was the one who prophesied about the New Covenant. The New Covenant was not something that the church made up. It was God's idea. He was the one who made it up. As a whole the leaders of Israel rejected it. It seems they were never satisfied with God's plan.
Today it seems that very few are still satisfied with God's plan. Most are still rebellious against God's plan. I believe that we should give that a lot of thought.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Jeremiah 34-36.

My reading for today was from Jeremiah 26-29. This is where his persecution begins. When you begin telling people things that they don't want to hear many begin to call you a false prophet.
The false prophets of Jeremiah's day called him one and told people to not listen to him and even put him in jail.
They were saying that God was going to bring people out of captivity.
When Jeremiah talked about 70ty years of captivity no one wanted to hear what he had to say. Today if you speak of anything bad no one wants to hear what you have to say.
People have been taught a gospel of only good things and that's all they want to hear.
God sends His rain upon the just and the unjust. There were good people in Jeremiah's day. But God sent judgement anyway. Look at the wickedness around you. Let's try to reach as many as we can and get them to heaven.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Jeremiah 30-31.

My reading for today was from Isaiah 58-62. Most know that Jesus quoted part of chapter 61. I wanted to speak about this verse.

Isaiah 61:3 KJV
[3] to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

This is a promise that we should stand upon. These are things that God will do for us if we will only ask. I thought I would speak about the word heaviness.
The original word for heaviness usually means faint, feeble, weak. It is used of a lamp going out (Isa. 42:3) and eyes becoming dim (1Sam. 3:2). Here it refers to one who is depressed and faint.
The idea of a lamp going out I believe speaks of that fire of God within us. Jesus said that He would not quench a smoldering wick. Just ask Him to pour out His oil upon you.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Isaiah 63-66.

My reading for the last three days was from Isaiah 40-45. I wanted to say something about this section. Chapter 40 is where Isaiah changes. It shifts from judgement to salvation. God had spoken about judgement upon Israel up to this point. In chapter 40 He begins to speak about redemption. There is an abrupt change.
You might say that He begins with Cyrus. In chapter 45 He speaks of giving Cyrus the treasures of darkness. This begins with Babylon and their riches. History says that he conquered 14 nations. He believed that God gave them to him.
Of course he gave the decree to rebuild the temple and other kings joined him. They wanted the prayers going up for them. We should pray for our politicians regardless of party. God knows how to influence them.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Isaiah 46-48.

My reading for the last two days was from Isaiah 21-27. I wanted to speak about chapter 22. I believe that most are familiar with verse 22. Here the key of the house of David is given. Which is parallel to the keys to the kingdom.
I wanted to speak about verse 23. Here it speaks of a nail in a wall. In their day they had stone walls. You could not drive a nail into stone walls. They had pegs. They built walls around pegs which were places to display something special. In fact verse 24 talks about hanging things on them.
I believe that God is wanting to make all of us into pegs. The interesting thing is none of us are round and we have to go through a whittling to become what God wants us to become. Sometimes the cutting seems kinda rough.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Isaiah 28-30.

My reading for today was from Isaiah 17-20. In this section of Isaiah there are a lot of prophecies spoken against countries for the future, some bad and some good.
In chapter nineteen verse nineteen there is a prediction made about Egypt.

Isaiah 19:19 KJV
[19] In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.

This verse has been mistakenly used about the great pyramid. There were people making predictions by measuring passages. They were clearly mistaken.
First it says an altar. According to the law altars were not to be made from hewn stone. Which would disqualify any pyramid.
I watched one man go through many different ways to change years to fit his predictions. None of these have ever proven true.
If you study the prophecy it is about Egypt and Assyria turning to God.
Second we should never try to build theory upon one verse.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Isaiah 21-23.

My reading for today was from Isaiah 5-8. Chapter 6 is one of the most familiar passages in the Bible.
This is the vision that Isaiah had of the throne of God. When he saw God's holiness he cried out woe is me. I believe that we have no idea how holy God is. We do not understand many things about God. I found these verses.

Isaiah 6:6-7 KJV
[6] Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: [7] and he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

I believe that there is something about the presence of God. It says in the Bible Jesus eyes are like fire. There has always been something about fire that is a mystery. Mankind has always been attracted to it. I believe that we will be attracted to God like a moth to fire. Once even the most wicked person stands before God they will bow. The time to bow is now. Seek Him now before it is to late.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Isaiah 9-12.

My reading for today was from Isaiah 1-4. I have always enjoyed the prophets. There was a time that they were a mystery to me. I have been studying many commentaries for years. I don't really have one book of the prophets that is my favorite. Any of them should cause us to seek God more.
In the beginning of the book we find God speaking to Israel through Isaiah about their failures. God has always tried to draw people back to Him. He still does. That is what the Bible is all about. It tells us about the Messiah and why He came. Isaiah foretold His coming and purpose for coming.
The book is laid out in 66 chapters just like the Bible. The first 39 are similar to the Old testament and the last 27 are similar to the New testament. I hope that you will take the time to read through Isaiah with me.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Isaiah 5-8.

07/13/2026

My reading for today was from Song of Solomon 5-8. I found these verses.

Song of Solomon 8:6-7 KJV
[6] Set me as a seal upon thine heart, As a seal upon thine arm: For love is strong as death; Jealousy is cruel as the grave: The coals thereof are coals of fire, Which hath a most vehement flame. [7] Many waters cannot quench love, Neither can the floods drown it: If a man would give all the substance of his house for love, It would utterly be contemned.

This is one of the strongest things ever written about love. Most have never known this kind of love. There is nothing that can stop true love. It will fight any battle.
This is the type of love that Christ had for us when He died for us. No one would go through the punishment that He did without this kind of love.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Isaiah 1-4.

07/13/2026

My reading for today was from Song of Solomon 1-4. There are many interpretations of this book. Many of which I personally do not hold to. Most want to believe that it is about them. The Jews believe that it's about them and God. The church believe that it's about them and Christ.
I believe that there are many verses that we can take in application. But Jesus is not a seducer. We should take some of the verses in application and not try and force them into something that they are not.
I hope that you are reading through the Bible with me this year. My reading for tomorrow will be from Song of Solomon 5-8.
