We have a church dog, but I’m sure a church cat would also find peace at Sixth Street. How about you?

🚨 BREAKING: A Maine resident just found out their cat has been attending church down the road… and yeah… at this point, he’s basically a full member of the congregation. 🐈⛪
Every Sunday morning… same routine.
Gone.
No meowing. No chaos. Just slips out the door like he’s got somewhere more important to be.
Comes back a few hours later smelling like coffee, old hymn books, and that classic “wooden pew + salty ocean breeze” combo…
and somebody definitely fed him a little something on the side. Probably haddock… maybe a nibble of lobster from fellowship lunch. 😭
So they followed him.
This cat walks straight into the church like he owns the place…
pushes through the door…
finds his spot…
and sits through the entire service like it’s part of his weekly schedule.
Pastor says he shows up early…
sits quietly…
doesn’t move… doesn’t make a sound…
And honestly?
Handles himself better than half the congregation after a long Saturday hauling traps or shoveling snow. 🦞❄️
At this point nobody questions it.
Somebody already named him Deacon Whiskers.
Somebody makes sure his pew is open.
And somebody definitely sneaks him a little snack after service… just in case. 😭
And honestly… in Maine?
Between the lighthouse mornings, pine air, and that slow Sunday rhythm…
If your cat found peace somewhere…
you just let him have it.
Now he’s got a routine, a reputation…
and probably better attendance than you.
Welcome to Maine —
where even the cats don’t miss Sunday service.
