Vida Nueva Church of the Nazarene in Machiques de Perijá, Venezuela, held a significant day of community service and evangelism in the Valle del Río sector, located in the municipality of Machiques de Perijá, in western Venezuela.

The activity reflected the congregation’s commitment to the holistic mission of the Church of the Nazarene by uniting humanitarian aid with the proclamation of the message of salvation.

A team of volunteers served the most vulnerable sectors of the community, providing various free services. During the day, food, clothing donations, haircuts, hair washing, and styling were offered. In addition, children enjoyed recreational activities such as face painting, creating a space for healthy interaction among the families of the sector.

The activity benefited 160 people, mostly children, who received comprehensive care and support in a context marked by diverse social and economic needs.

The day also provided an opportunity to share the values of the kingdom of God and strengthen the bonds between the local church and the community. This initiative is part of the social action program that the Vida Nueva Church of the Nazarene carries out in the region, with the purpose of responding to the needs of local families and bringing hope to rural and suburban communities.

Through this outreach, the church reaffirmed its commitment to community care, extending resources, logistical support, and pastoral presence beyond the walls of the church to address the basic and emotional needs of people in its communities.

Theology conference equips ministers, leaders on Mesoamerica North Field

More than 300 people gathered in Guatemala City from 14–16 May 2026 to participate in the theological conference, “In Spirit and Truth: The Work of the Holy Spirit in the Past, Present, and Future of the Church of the Nazarene in the North Field.” The event was held at the Nazarene Theological Seminary (STN) in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and participants included district superintendents, pastors, and leaders from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

The event was organized by the Mesoamerica North Field, the Nazarene Theological Seminary (STN), the Guatemala Nazarene Theological Seminary (SENATEG), and the Regional Theological Education office. It aimed to reflect on the work of the Holy Spirit in the past, present, and future of the Church of the Nazarene in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

The conference focused on three main themes: The Spirit and the Call, The Spirit and Ministry, and The Spirit and the Church. Presentations were led by global, regional, and field leaders, including Klaus Arnold, director of Global Education and Clergy Development; Brian Wilson, superintendent of the South Florida District; Jimmy De Gouveia, regional director; and Carlos Cordero, North Field strategy coordinator, along with other invited leaders.

Each presentation highlighted the work the Holy Spirit has accomplished through the Church of the Nazarene in these three countries and encouraged participants to look toward the future with hope and commitment, guided by the Lord’s direction.

“I am grateful to the organizers for creating this space. The Church of the Nazarene in El Salvador needs more moments like this—moments when we dare to look at ourselves with honesty and hope at the same time,” said Eder Quintanilla, superintendent of the El Salvador East District.

The conference also served as the setting to celebrate the 50-year history of the Nazarene Theological Seminary (STN). The institution opened its doors on 5 May 1976 and has played a vital role in the biblical, theological, and ministerial training of pastors and leaders in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

In addition to the conference sessions, the event included evening worship services featuring inspiring messages from God’s Word. Attendees experienced moments of reflection, spiritual renewal, and consecration, responding to the Lord’s call to continue serving faithfully in their ministries and communities.

The conference delivered a clear message to the Church of the Nazarene in the North Field—to continue moving forward under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, strengthening the Church’s call, ministry, and mission for present and future generations.

As part of a celebration, commemorative plaques were unveiled in recognition of the institution’s legacy and service throughout the past five decades. Ulises Solís, rector of STN; Klaus Arnold; district superintendents; pastors; and members of the seminary’s academic and administrative staff participated in the ceremony.

During the celebration, Solís was recognized for his outstanding leadership and service as rector of STN. The recognition carried special significance as Solís will soon conclude his service as rector and enter retirement alongside his wife, Kelly de Solís.

Reflecting on the impact of the seminary, Ulises Solís shared:

“This institution has prepared men and women through biblical and theological education, equipping them both for ministry in the local church and for theological teaching, training and preparing future educators.”
