Logan County Search and Rescue, along with Living Word Church in Adairville will be taking donations for Hurricane Helene victims in East TN and West NC continuing today and tomorrow. Some donations were received last night at the Rescue Units new building at 101 Thurston Dr. Anyone who is still wanting to donate items can drop items off at that location. This first team will leave out Monday morning to travel to the effected area and with enough donations of goods will return with more items each Monday as they can. Items being requested are:
Self care products
Soap
Shampoo
Toothpaste
Tooth brushes
Feminine care products
Blankets
Toys for children
Clothing
All must be new with tags and please no water or perishable food items. Thank you.

The remnants of Hurricane Beryl are forecast to bring heavy rain and severe storms to our area this afternoon and tonight. One of the main concerns for Logan Co. is that we have the fair going on. This means we will be keeping an eye to the sky's to make sure that those enjoying the fair events are safe while participating.

Tomorrow around lunch time, there will be several intersections closed from the Logan/Warren Co. lines, and throughout the cities of Auburn and Russellville. Please take note of this as travel may be slightly affected, as we es**rt in The Wall That Heals to Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Russellville. Thank you!

PSA: Logan County will be TESTING as per policy, the Outdoor warning sirens today January 6th, at 1200 (noon). This is only a test that is required to keep our communities safe during the event of severe weather. Thank you.

Today I was sworn in for my 3rd term as 5th district constable. It has been a privilege being able to serve Logan Co. for the past 8 years, and I look forward to serving with all of the newly elected officials who were sworn in today. Special thanks to Judge Joe Hendricks and even though you can't see him well, my son Carston.
