We invite you to join us this Sunday, April 26th at 10:30 am with Jayson Post presenting “The Prayer of Saint Francis as a Guide for Personal Development” Jayson describes it as: "We are born self-centered and should try to become everyone-centered. Every sentient being is important, and is either God or a child of God (assuming that God exists). We should not neglect ourselves, but, because we are naturally inclined to be self-centered, we should keep the “Prayer of Saint Francis” in mind to overcome that natural inclination. What a wonderful world it would be if all adult mortal humans were much more like the “Prayer of Saint Francis” and much less like selfish babies."

This Sunday, March 29th Jason Post will be presenting “Freewillism Versus Determinism, starting at 10:30 am. “Freewillism is the belief that human choices ultimately are or can be voluntary, because they are not completely determined by external causes. In contrast, Determinism is the belief that human choices ultimately are not voluntary, because they are always completely determined by external causes. Jayson believes that Determinism accounts for the vast majority of the actions in the universe but not all of them. Animals that are about as intellectually sophisticated as dogs seem to have a freewill part, and according to biology, humans belong to the kingdom of Animalia.” We look forward to having join us for this service.

This coming Sunday, December 28th, at 10:30 am, Jayson Post will
lead the service "What Is the Best Ethical System? (Part Three)” Jayson describes it as follows - "An ethical system is a group of related beliefs about how to determine what actions are good or evil. The question is: What is the best ethical system? Once upon a time, Jayson believed that he adequately answered this question in the first two sermons of this sermon series. However, John Rawls’s moral philosophy, Justice as Fairness, changed his mind. What was once a two-sermon series is now a three-sermon series. Jayson is now convinced that Justice as Fairness is morally superior to Utilitarianism. Thus, Justice as Fairness is actually the best ethical system." Don Ives will present a Holiday Brunch following the service. All are invited to attend.
