Pastor posted an article from AiG regarding the decision by Highlights Magazine to start publishing photos of same-s*x couples. One person calling the magazine to cancel their subscription due to this revelation shared this opportunity:

"I wanted to update you and let you know that Highlights Editor in Chief called me today and we had a lengthy conversation regarding the above issue. I think while there may not be a resolution to our conversation, that it will, by God's grace, make her think. Our talk was very polite and cordial. She basically said that the magazine will be showing a picture once a year, of a same s*x couple. She was trying to make it seem as though it is "only a picture" so "children that come from LGBT homes will relate to the picture and say 'Hey, they're like me.' but other children would not even notice the difference." In short, I told her that what may seem like a small thing to her, is actually a big deal. I explained that these things happen in incremental steps. So when that one picture a year becomes normalized, then they can normalize the next step, and the next, and the next, etc. I explained the process of how the media in whole indoctrinates and normalizes this kind of lifestyle, and how you cannot watch a television show now without being inundated by a small, but very vocal group in entertainment. I then told her that while I understand this is a private publisher and they can do what they want, that this is a children's magazine, and that it is good sense to make the parent have the decision on when and if they want to address this topic with their children. She actually seemed to be agreeing with me on this issue, because she occasionally agreed with a "yes." I also said that surely she could understand as the editor of a magazine, that the eye gate, what the child sees and takes in, is extremely influential in their development and that as a Christian woman and parent, I was not okay with my children even seeing a same s*x couple "just once a year" since this would stay in their memory and they would view it as normal. I said that the devil works in what the world would consider "innocent" circumstances to sway and turn us to sin against God and that he was using this as a way to indoctrinate children and adults. I said that the bible tells us that homos*xuality is sin, and that whether that sin is considered to be big, small or nonexistent by the world, sin is sin, and will be judged by God. I told her that I was still not interested in any future subscriptions and she asked me to reconsider. I told her I was accountable before God and that I would not expose my children to any sin that I was aware of. We ended the conversation very politely and the tone in which she spoke to me seemed to be somewhat encouraging. I thought of more I could have said afterwards, but she caught me as I was in a rush and leaving the house. I am sure that God gave me the exact words He wanted me to say. Please pray that this woman would think about our conversation and that God would pour His grace upon her. And if you would like, I am sure some additional calls from Christians would only encourage the matter. I didn't contact her directly, but had sent a private FB message to the Highlights for children page and someone on the staff asked for my phone number."

Come out tonight @ 6:30 as we instruct one another in the faith through the method of catechizing. What may that be, you might ask? Read the article below. Here is the MQ: "Even for those without children, a catechism is a fine way to ensure that we understand and embrace the orthodox Christian faith."

The Joy And Usefulness Of The Catechism, Part 1   What Is A Catechism? When you hear the word “catechism”, perhaps it brings to mind some dusty old practice, or something you’d more likely see in a Roman Catholic setting than a Protestant church. But catechisms are a teaching tool that have been use...

Here is a great retelling of the story of Liddell that should give us pause as we watch the Olympics.

Cultural commentary from a Biblical perspective Eric Liddell ran for God's glory, but he was made for China. He desperately wanted the nation he loved to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
