For generations we've been saying, "children are the future of the church." And I think we're finally realizing that we need to change that saying, in that children are part of the church now." - B. Johnson, church worker St John's Kansas

Baptized into Christ, children share the same gifts, the same blessings from God and are able to use those gifts, even if it is in smaller ways. Those small little bits of talent and time are important and such a blessing in God's eyes and to our neighbor.

Through Christ's death and resurrection He has defeated the one who holds the power of death, that is, the devil. (Hebrews 2:14)
Death is swallowed up in victory.

St Paul declares in Colossians "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly..."
And how does that happen? Scientific study tells us that songs help with memory and learning. God told us that ages ago in scripture.
"...singing psalms and hymns an spiritual songs"
We "dwell" in God's word as lyrics dance in our heads. The songs learned by heart stay in our hearts and the Holy Spirit brings God''s Word to our remembrance.

God's words of Law are holy and good and serve as a guide to living our baptized life. Through these words, we discover that we are sinners, that we have sinned and missed the mark. No word of Law can save us.
The Gospel is the Word God speaks to us which saves. When we read words of the Gospel, we hear about God's work of steadfast love and mercy for us. Through the Words of the Gospel, we receive God's unconditional love and discover the power of His grace to forgive and renew us through faith in Jesus Christ.
