Tonight Auburn UMC Youth Ministry took on "Mission Is" — six different definitions of Christian mission, each taped up around the room and rooted in a different piece of Scripture. Students wandered from wall to wall, read every definition, and stood by the one that felt most like their own understanding of what mission means.

Some landed on Micah 6:8 — doing justice and loving kindness. Others were drawn to Matthew 25 — loving the people everyone else overlooks. Many felt the pull of John 20:21 — being sent, just like Jesus was sent. Once everyone found their spot, we talked through why.

Mission is bigger than any single verse can hold; it happens in all times, places, and ways and it is a calling we all share.

Can't wait to share these freshly dug sweet potatoes from the Good News Garden! We give thanks for every hand that tended these plants, for the soil, water, and sun, and for the ways they will be transformed by our neighbors into nourishment for bodies and, perhaps, with God's grace, souls as well.

Let us know if you want to get your hands dirty growing veggies for the food pantry. Fall garden planting is not too far away!

Our students are serving so faithfully this week with so many friends and neighbors across our community! Keep them and all our adult leaders in prayer as they work hard, live into Christian community, feel God's presence, and hear God's call!
