In this week's podcast episode, Lee Cadden and Kevin Briggins discuss the role of deacons at Grace Auburn Church. For the first seven years of our history, our church thrived under healthy leadership from our elders and staff. As we continued to grow, we were excited to introduce deacons – those who serve the practical needs of our members – to our leadership team. Kevin and Lee discuss the Biblical precedent from Acts 6 on the role of deacons in the early church. This discussion aims to clear the air on what deacons do not do in a healthy church and who is eligible to serve in this role.

Alive in Jesus Forever! What a joy to celebrate Evan Burns’ baptism with our faith family!

“For we were buried therefore with him by baptism into death… so we too might walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4

“And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for He was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.” Matthew 7:28-29

The Sermon on the Mount was never merely about behavior modification - it was always meant to drive us to Jesus.

In this concluding sermon on the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Jeff Hollis reflects on how Jesus’ teachings reveal both the heart of God’s Kingdom and the authority of Christ Himself. Walking back through themes like the Beatitudes, loving enemies, pursuing righteousness, rejecting hypocrisy, trusting God in anxiety, and bearing true spiritual fruit, the sermon emphasizes that these commands are not achievable through human effort alone but only through dependence on Jesus. Matthew 7:28–29 highlights how the crowds were astonished because Jesus taught not like ordinary religious leaders, but with divine authority — as the very Word of God, the promised Messiah, and God Himself. Ultimately, the message points believers beyond moral instruction to the person of Christ, reminding us that the Kingdom of God is both a present reality and a future hope, made possible through Jesus’ saving work, empowering presence, and eternal love. www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/5242619340743

Whether you're brand new to Grace Auburn or have been here since day one, understanding the "why" behind how we operate is essential. That's why we're hitting replay this summer on one of our most foundational podcast series.

Today, we kick off the multi-part series, "Who We Are," with a crucial conversation on leadership structure and biblical church governance. Join elders Kerry Bradley, Dave Meadows, and Lee Cadden as they break down how God has called us to lead and protect this flock.

Our prayer is that these episodes stir up the faith of our covenant members and serve as a clear guide for those looking for a new church home.

Tune in this summer to remember—or discover for the first time—who we are.

Jesus doesn’t just want our attendance; He wants our hearts. True peace and joy aren’t found in a record of religious performance, but in trusting the finished work of Jesus Christ minute by minute, day by day.

Stop trying to build on shifting sand. Turn to the only Firm Foundation that will never fail you.
